I am taking nappies, wipes, cotton wool balls, milton steralising wipes, and baby bathing things (including a towel). My idea is get baby used to one brand of nappies/wipes etc.

My dp took me shopping for my hospital bag (I know... I asked him if he was dying...) and I bought some nice black PJs from Asda... thought they were £12 but when I went to pay for them, realised they only charged £6! Woop!

Also bought matching outfits for baby and William.. AWWW!!! Can't wait to dress them both up in them when we go out with baby for the first time

I've been getting pains in my vagina and across my bump and my legs and bump is wriggling like mad. Went to the loo and just had my show. Can only be a good sign!! xXx

with an answer to cheaper alternative then mothercare for pj, "peac***" i have picked up night wear from materity and just larger size than normal between 8 - 10 pound.  which i found out they did materity wear earlier in pregancy.    also i heard that permark is good for cheap pj.

This is great I'm doing mine this week and couldn't find a decent checklist .. I've been told black or dark coloured PJ's are a must so that if you bleed a little it won't show and you won't be embarassed walking about... Seen some in mothercare but now looking for a cheaper alternative...

I had to provide nappies and cotton wool etc for DD.  I've packed 2 bags one for ward one for labour so I've put a couple in the labour bag for straight after the birth and the rest of a pack in my other bag.

For what to pack, you need to think what to wear in labour (cheap nightie for me), snacks possibly but if there is a chance of a section you prob won't be able to eat.  I've got some squash to help refresh me. i've got Ipod etc in to pass time, outfits for after birth for me and baby maternity towels and big knickers.  For ward I've got 3 lots of change of clothes for baby (vests, sleepsuits, hats and scratch mits) couple of sets of trackie bottoms etc for me more maternity towels and big knickers, nursing bras, toiletries, slippers plus more I've forgotten right now but I'm sure others will add

Im not to sure personally my hospital doesnt whether your having a section or not weve got to take in our own but all hospitals are different and some do things others dont so dont feel daft and asked your midwife so you can be prepared, im sure your not the only person thats asked that question x

Hi I would advice u to take ur own nappies, even though the hosp might rpovide for u. Am a 1st timer, but every1 i know even 2nd time mums ar taking thier own nappies. The bounty pack essential they giv u in hosp contains nappies, but they giv u after u've given birth.

I have packed 10 newborn nappies in my hospital bag, coz i hope i wont stay there for long. hth x

    Hi everyone

Just started thinking about packing hospital bag - do you need to take nappies with you or do the hospital provide them for you while you're there?  If they do provide, i've been told I may need a section- if I do, will the hospital still provide nappies the whole time i'm there?

Am so confused - any help on what I should pack would be great, this is my first baby and I'm a bit baffled by everything, with not the most approachable midwife for things like this - makes me feel a bit silly!
