Congratulations Sounds like the ideal birth- I hope mine is as straightforward as that

Were you taking rasberry leaf tea, or anything else which is supposed to help with labour?

    A GIRL !!

Milly Joe Wright was born 04-09-08 @ 9.24pm weighing 7lb10oz's.

    Heres my birth story ......

On Thursday i went to see Midwife who booked me in for induction on the 13th/14th of this month and arranged a sweep. I went home feeling like "is this baby ever going to make an appearance!!" Anyway from about 12 lunch time i kept getting a few nigling pains and tightenings, i ignored them thinking it was braxton hicks. At 5pm i stood up off the sofa and gush came my waters, so off i went to the loo were i started to panic as when i checked my pants my waters were green! I phoned the hospital straight away who advised me to go in. We got to the hospital at 5.50 pm and i was examined and told i was 3-4 cm dilated and baby would probably be delivered the next morning. I was just breathing through my contractions untill i couldnt bear them any longer, the Midwife said well i dont wanna give you any gas and air yet its too early, i asked her to check me again to see if i'd made progress and when she did at around 9pm i was told i was 6-7 cm dilated. I was handed the gas and air, which made the pain a lot more bearable - i loved the stuff! A few minutes later i felt myself pushing and i couldn't stop. The midwife got her gown on etc and then out popped Milly! It was all over in the blink of an eye. It wasn't as bad as i had imagined and was definatley worth it ... i'm totally and utterly over the moon with my lil girl. I didn't need any stitches either as i only had a little tear.

Congratulations to any ladies who have delivered whilst ive been away and good luck to all ladies still waiting.

Lots of Love Laura & Milly xxx
