....... We are totally devastated to have found out on Friday afternoon that our first child's heartbeat had stopped.
Kicks as normal Thursday night but I called my husband at work to say that I had not felt any movement Friday morning and going into town for lunch with another member of this site and to see what happens after having a hot lunch with a cold fizzy drink.
After lunch and still no movement I called the hospital who told me to go in to be checked and my husband arrived to be told that the basic tests they had performed could not detect a heartbeat.
We were then taken downstairs for a more formal and detailed scan and again they could not trace a heartbeat. This was done in the presence of two sonographers and a consultant.
There was no mistake at 39+2 no heartbeat could be detected.
They gave me a tablet to take Fri night to start the labour process as I need to give birth naturally and I am booked in tomorrow morning to be induced.
Thanks for all the support and tips over the last 9 months and rest assured I will be back onto the site as soon as I am able.
