Yep Emma was 10 days over and her skin is dry.  Use baby oil or lotion and don't be tempted to give too many baths.

i had 3 overdue babies the 9 and 10 day over ones werent dry but they were very clean iykwim? my early ones i call butter babies because of the amount of gunk they had on them lol. my 5 day over baby looked like he wasnt due for a couple of weeks because of all the white gunk on him.

so no my overdue babies didnt have dry skin.

Molly was 14 days overdue, but her skin isn't dry yet, apparently this is quite unusual though so I'm still waiting for it to happen, the midwives at the hospital said if it does happen then vegetable oil is best, rather than any petroleum based product like vaseline as it can actually dry it out more.. hope this helps x

Just had lunch with my mum and funny enough she was just saying that because i am overdue the baby might be red with dry skin.  She said my brother was terrible for it and was 2 wks late.. Watch this space if she ever gets here

Yep both mine have been late DD1 9 days and this one 10 days and both had dry skin and peeled.  Olive oil is the best thing to put on it, works a treat.  Once they have peeled thou the skin should be fine DD1 now has lovely skin

Hi dreamdrop, it certainly is. Mine was overdue by 7 days born yesterday and dry cracked skin. MW told me this was because he was overdue. Get the baby oil gel on him/her.... does the trick x

Hey everyone. Hope you're all enjoying being mummies as much as I am

This is a question for those who had over due babies. I was just wondering if your babies have extremely dry skin? My lo was 1 week late and she is peeling like a snake. My sister said that it happens to all over due babies, just I'm curious to see if thats true. lol. Also what cream etc do you use on them? I've been told a couple of things, like vaseline but because its all over her body I'm worried about it trapping the heat in and her not being able to cool down.
