Congrats on the early birth of baby Marcus and also for having the 1st October baby! I remember being the 1st August mummy back in 2005 when my DD was born at 30wks, and although its scary, remember he is alot stronger than you think and Im absolutely sure he will grow up to be a very healthy young man. Also, really treasure these precious earliest moments as they will soon be a distant memory, it may feel like a life-time now before you can take your baby home but it sure does go sooo fast!

I keep checking back marcus is a good weight and I hope he goes from strength to strength and that nikki manages to get some more sleep and that tomorrow brings more good news.

Hi, I am gatecrashing -
Hi, I had my ds at exactly 26wks but was classed as 25 weeks exactly as he stopped growing - he was just 690grams at birth, he spent a total of 12 weeks in hospital coming home 2 weeks before his due date, he was ventilated for 24hrs then onto CPAP which he weaned completly off after 5 weeks, he had 6 suspected infections, 7 blood transfusions, a life threatning apnea (stopped breathing and needed resusitation) and surgery for a hernia - All classes as minor in a baby that early/small, today he is 5 months old, weighs 8lb, fully breastfed and has no problems at all, they truly are remarkable babies and are very very strong, but the time in hospital in the hardest thing I have had to do - I wish you all the strength to get through the tough few months ahead, It is always 2 steps forward and 1 back.
