Yeah watch out for what size the newborn says as all shops are different ive got a newborn snow suit from adams that says up to 7lb 6 but ive also got a newborn top from adams that says upto 10lb 6 so look at labels 0-3 stuff is normally up to 14lb ish.

I only had 3 babygros that were newborn, everything else was 0-3 months. My son was 10lb 9oz and only wore the newborn babygros a handful of times. The 0-3 months hung off him to start with, but he lost a bit of weight then gained it back. The labels on the newborn clothes usually say up to 11lbs.

As I'm having another boy, I'm not going to buy much for him, but will buy him a couple of newborn and 0-3 outfits.

DS#1 was 7lb 3 @ 2 weeks early and wore newborn for about 8 weeks as he's such a light weight even now

DS#2 was 7lb 15 @ 3 weeks early adn wore newborn for about 3 weeks he was chunky but not long so fit him for a while

DD was 9lb 12 @ 1 week early and was very chunky and very long she went straight into 0-3 the day she was born as mw came in to tell me she wouldn't fit in the new born I had packed so I told her there was 0-3 in the bottom of the bag. I hadn't seen her yet so to be told that was shocking.

This one I think is going to be like DD so don't think I'll bother packing newborn haven't decided yet.

My LO was 9 pounds and fit all the newborn stuff for about a week ! It wasn't that she was chunky, just long. It looked so silly, skintight baby clothes so it does just depend - Bet this one is no shrimp either, so have gone for the 0-3 months but sizes do differ in shops, Adams i think are massive

my babies have ranged in weights from 6lb 5oz - 8lb 4oz and all have been in newborn size from the start for a few weeks.

my smaller ones were in tiny baby/early baby size also before newborn but i suppose it depends on each individual baby
