If your getting protein in wee accompanied with raised bp and flashing lights you need to get cheked love x x x

Trace of protein can be vaginal discharge - If it is just a trace it is quite common in 3rd trimester onwards. Sometimes do clinics and everyone has got it. It is worth sending a clean catch MSSU though as ca be infection, although that is usually accompanied by Leucocytes, Nitrates, and just looks nasty and smells a bit nasty too. Lot of debris as well.

HTH - I have had it from 32 weeks - All MSSU have been clear, am convinced its just discharge... Especially in all that hot weather we had....

BP, flashing lights, NEW swelling, and sudden onset heartburn need to be checked out though....

There was a trace of protein in mine on Sunday, its a uti so just have to take antibiotics for a few days. Probably just the same for you being just a trace, we're all more prone to them atm. Ahhh the joys of pregnancy eh lol. hth

pre-eclampsia signs tend to be black dots/spots before the eyes as well as or instead of shooting lights. x

Hi hun, i think they must grade it or something, lol.  I have +1 Protein and am now being monitored for signs of pre-eclampsia as i have raised bp too.  I had trace for ages and they didn;t do anytthing but as soon as it hit +1 they are now monitoring me twice a week on those CTG machine's and i had to do a 24 hour urine collection.  Don't know why though?  HTH xxxxxx

This can be a sign of pre-eclampsia, together with high blood pressure, noticeable swelling in hands, feet and face, darting lights in front of eyes and bad headaches but if your mid-wife wasn't overly concerned then you shouldn't be as I take it you don't have any of the other symptoms? xx

when i went to mw yesterday she said i had a trace of protein in water......she never explained what it meant??any one shed any light?
