2.5 togs are standard then it depends on the temp of the babies room  to what you dress them in

I picked up a 0-6 months sleeping bag and a 6-12 month one at an NCT sale a few months ago and then bought another 0-6 month one from Sainsburys. They all appear to be 2.5 tog but when I bought them I didn't realise there were different togs. I cut out something from a baby magazine that might :-

    0.5 tog   weather - hot

    1.0 tog   weather - warm

2.5 tog   weather - standard, so I would suggest 2.5 tog for first 6 months

They then talk about nursery temperature

    26 / 79 - 0.5 tog + short sleeve bodysuit

    24 / 75 - 1.0 tog + short sleeve bodysuit

    22 / 71 - 1.0 tog + long sleeve bodysuit

    20 / 69 - 1.0 tog + short sleeve bodysuit & pyjama top or 2.5 tog + long sleeve bodysuit

    Hope that helps

I have read and been advised to go for 2.5 tog for the winter, so I have bought 2 of them ready.

Hi, just wondered what tog sleeping bags people were getting if they were planning to use sleeping bags?

I wasn't sure whether we should go for 1 or 2.5 tog ones?
