ECV

Thanks for the feedback girls. LO has been breech since about week 34 and I've been trying all the techniques / old wives tales to try to get him to turn. Even though he hadn't turned on Thursdays scan I've still been giving things a go (and still will do). But failing a natural turn its good to know that the ECV isn't too bad. Bex x10/10/08 12:47
Hi,
I had a scan on Monday and LO was still breech so was booked for ECV yesterday.Arrived at hospital at 8.30am and was monitered then had a trace to check LO was ok.Was eventually moved to a labour room at 12pm as consultant was ready. She scanned me only to find that LO had turned and was happily head down!.Had got so worked up as had heard that the actual ECV can be uncomfortable and only wish that they had scanned me when I arrived rather than having me wait 3 and half hours.
My advice to you is to firstly get them to confirm LO is still breech when you arrive,(as they do have a chance of turning by themselves at this stage),and secondly to try over the weekend to visualise your LO head down, even have a chat to him/her and ask them to move. Was told this by MW on Monday and it seemed to work for me LOL.
Best of luck,

hi I had this done last friday when i was 39+2. I had opted for a c-section but changed my mind last minuet and i'm so glade i did now. It wasn't a painfully experience at all. Just felt a bit like cramp as they turned baby. (the sort of cramp you get in your legs not stomach cramp)
They just monitor you for about 20mins before to check babys heart then monitor you again after to make sure it didn't stress lo. hth

Hiya I'm 37 weeks today. When I went for my scan yesterday my little bump was still breech. They have booked me in for an ECV on Monday - has anyone else had this? Bex
