I had the same thing, not last night but the night before from about 10pm to 3am... and I really started to think that this was it.. but finally fell asleep and woke up and NOTHING..

but.. I'm sure it won't be long before our board starts popping like corn..

i came home had had 2 cups of rlt to help things along - but nothing - so i guess he will come when he is ready , but at least it gave me enough of a shock to sort my labour bag out! i swear it was because i was holding a newborn yesterday.

Becca - I had 4 weeks of it with ds (number 2)  From 38 weeks to 42 weeks - i didn't quite believe it when I actually did go into labour!

If you lie down, these contractions do just fade away - whereas the real thing get stronger and stronger.  So if you get a chance to lie down and see if they go (easier said than done with 2 kids already as I know!)

Any consolation - ds's labour was under 2 hours and really easy, so those false contractions much have helped

Also I found it happened less when I didn't have RL tea, and more when I did, so I stopped drinking it!

hi ladies

ive been having pains on and off too dont really know what to make of them yet as im only 33+4 weeks my back has started hurting twice while ive been getting bellyache with a pattern but nothing that i have actually said this is it iykwim

this is my 5th so im thinking its just my body getting over excited about the birth or that im due an early one as i had my 3rd at 37 weeks but started like this a week b4 who knows

i was the same in both my labours ds1 i woke up at midnight with conreactions 5 mins apart went to hosp and was in established labour with ds2 woke up at 6 am and the same thing so i was sort of hoping for the same thing

anyhow im sitting on my ball and drinking my rasberry leaf tea i do not want to go over went over 1 day with my first and 3 days with my second so i guess im going the same way tho i was hoping cause im having a girl it might happen sooner oh well

HI rachie, yeah no.3 and i heard at antenatel class that it may take a week of pain but as i have never started before like this i guess i just assumed that it would happen like before - It is really irritating if i am gonna be like this for weeks! am hopefully having a sweep in 2 weeks so i guess if the contractions are at least doing something then i don't feel so annoyed and hey at least the sweep might work first time! 35+3

hi i was the same yesterday i had period type pains in my back and lower bump and i really thought this was it and my bump kept going hard too

but im still here too

is it no3 for you to? i have heard that with no3 it can be weeks of slow stop start labour thats ehat my mw told me but it is actually getting your cervix ready dont know weather its true or not

im 36+2 how far are you?

Starting having contractions yesterday lunch time every 15 min, had them all day but just got on with usual bits and bobs, went shopping took kids out ect, decided to pack my bag about 7pm last night, thought would try and get some sleep about 9pm and must have just been exhausted as didn't wake up til 6am, which is the longest night sleep i have had in months - contractions have all gone. I am gutted that it has all stopped, with my others i had contractions straight off every 5 min so they were quite strong but these were like a stomach ache and back pain. aarrgggghhh
