well just got back from my gp and guess what...

He refused to do me more blood tests and has decided to try me on different antihistamines. My baby is still breech so ive got a scan with my consultant on monday so im gunna tell her on monday about my itchy problem. Im so upset atm.

They said that to me (or rather it was very unlikely that the bile acids would show anything), but they did!!  Had my growth scan today and all looks good.  6lb2oz, so estimated at 6lb 12oz by 37 weeks.  Let me know how you get on.

Bile acids have been sent off to Manchester but the Midwife said that if blood test came back fine then bile acids wouldn't show anything. I'm guessing that isn't always true?

All my bloods have been fine (I've had a lot taken over the past 2 weeks), but they also sent some Bile Acid tests to Birmingham which showed up abnormal.  It was this that they used to confirm OC.  Have they mentioned anything about this.  I've been put on antihistamines and URSO.  Hope they get to the bottom of this soon.  I'm back in for more monitoring and growth scan tomorrow morning. xx

i have been following this thread but not posted yet. for the past 3 weeks i have itched myself raw. Ive had 2 lots of bloods taken. the first lot was sent for the wrong test and the last test i got results today they came back normal. My mw rang me to talk bout water results and im so tired and fed up of itching and not getting any sleep i just burst into tears and bawled my eyes out. GP had givben me some antihistmines to take and ive got my 36wk app on wed and he will se how i am then. ive tried everything to stop itching and had no luck. Ive scratched that bad i look like ive been scored with a knife. Im so down and fed up with it and dont understand whats going on. Its not just on my belly its everywhere.

Spent another afternoon in hospital. They don't think it's OC based on bloods but I am itching myself raw! Repeat bloods next Monday - what else could this be? They checked for all sorts of viruses but nothing came up. I can't carry on being so itchy, I cried at my kids breakfast club this morning because i just couldn't stand the itch any longer!

I've spent the afternoon being monitored and having more blood tests. Still really itchy but no conclusion yet. Being induced at 37 weeks has been mentioned - 2 weeks today. I have to go back again Monday for more monitoring and test results.

I had my dd1 at 35 weeks.  My placenta had failed but fortunately I went into spontaneous labour which apparently saved her.  After a week in scbu she was fine and is now a strapping 9 year old.  At least you have some warning so it will be a bit more controlled.  Have you got o get tiny baby clothes ready? Good luck with tomorrow.

After several hours on the labour ward I have been discharged for the night. I have to go back tomorrow for blood test results although Dr seemed convinced I've got OC. He wants to discuss next steps tommorrow - might be meeting Imogen earlier than I'd thought!

Def contact somebody.  I started itching a few weeks ago and after some tests they found I had Obstetric Cholestasis.  It may be nowt, but better to get it checked out.  Let me know how you get on.

and very scratchy! All over, esp face and hands and arms. I'd think I had fleas but noone else in my house is itchy. Couldn't sleep last night because kept scratching! Think I need to tell someone i'm itchy or just see how it goes? Only started yesterday.
