Laura i know what you mean.. i read far too much into everything now!

Like tummy pains.... how do you know what a contraction feels like?

When i go for a wee... how would you know if your wee stopped and waters started?

Back Ache.... how do you know its not the onset of labour?

Needing a poo more often... is it my body getting ready?

ha ha! its daft isnt it! although im sure if i did have a contracion id know about it! lol

oooh Ami  wonder if you could give me some advice?  Joes brother has apparently been diagnosed with paranoia.  He is 21 and lives down south with Joes mum.  Basically he has these paranoid episodes, thinks he is followed when out, thinks people trace his calls etc etc - but basically everytime he goes to see a doctor or consultant, they just prescribe him tablets - which he wont take as he thinks theyre trying to drug him to do something else to him!  I keep saying to Joe that it he is that bad surely he should be getting some more help or something - all his mum does is buy alcohol for him - which he drinks way too much of (surely not helping the problem) - he was a bg user of cannabis too previously though I believe thats stopped now.  Do you think there isother help available - I get frustrated with the whole situation - also he does seem to 'turn on and off' the symptoms to get his own way - Im sure he has some behaviourlal problems which have bever been picked up or something.  Anyway, just wondered what you thought?

I'm not ready to be a Mummy just yet, next the next few weeks to get more used to the idea I think!

Jess- Think I did an okay job with the TV show! It's a lot easier on the wards. When someone thinks they're being bugged, haven't slept for 3 days, seeing vampires or they're going out with Prince Charles etc. it's easier to know whether they should be an inpatient etc!!!

    Morning girls.

Woke up with back ache this morning - think Ive slept funny.  Keep having dreams about the baby and labour and stuff.  35 weeks today, and keep thinking how Joe was born at 36 weeks and we could have a baby in a weeks time (I know thats unlikely but could happen) and starting to feel a bit weird about it all.  We dont start our antenatal classes until next monday - for the next 4 weeks... keep wondering if  will be having the baby before theyre finished!  I wonder if I instinctively know se'll come early??? or mabe its wishful thinking.... and everytime I go to the loo, Im waiting for waters to pop or something - but how woud you know you werent just having a wee????

Ive writen my birthing plan - well answered some of the questions in my notes anyway.  Ive just put minimal pain relief and see how it goes - I really only want anything else if there is a problem.  And definitely want to move around as muh as possible and will need to or my back will lock (I had to see the consultant about this as I have spondolosis thesis) - he said it shouldnt be a problem but advised me movin around alot too.

Oh girls, I wish I could fast forward 2 months in time and be at home with my little lady!

    L+P xx

Our parentcraft is 1 day 10am till 4pm to make it easier to get to supposedly... this woman looked really uncomfortable and i tho9ught she was just a  bit wierd anyway when we had a break and she stood up it was clear she wasnt just uncomfortable!

Amy I saw that programme advertised... did you manage to spot the fakers??

Went into labour during ante-natal class?!!! Wow!

I have my first tomorrow. It's the labour one.

Have written some notes re. my birth plan. I would like to try a water birth. If that's not for me I'd like to try other positions. Lying on a bed, in agony isn't for me. When I squat to put on someone's shoes etc at work I can feel the pressure of the baby etc so it makes sense to let gravity help you doesn't it? As for pain relief I've said I'd like to try gas and air but only anything else if I ask for it.

Just been watching a programme on BBC2 where you have to spot the mentally ill from the sane!

Hmmmm well.. i have my tens machine, so the idea is to use that at home for as long as i can, then use it in hospital till i need anything else.

Idealy id only like to have g&a and pethadine at a push,.. not keen on the idea of an epidural, purely cos i wanna be able to get up and have a shower afterwards and stuff... however im no hero lol and if at the time i think i need a epidural ill have one.

I went to parentcraft on saturday and they showed us a ventouse, and i have to say its much better than i expected, so i dont feel as nervous about the possibility of needing a ventouse delivery. (still anti forceps tho)

Ooohh i ment to tell you... at parentcraft a woman went into labour! she was 30 weeks with twins!

I only had g+a with ds so would like (all being well) either g+a again or nothing at all. I plan to have an active birth this time so hoping i wont need it but i am open to it if i feel its necessary at the time. With ds i was just told to lie on a bed and wait to push and i waited 2 hours and when your just lying there all you can think of is the pain you were just in and the next contraction so your more likely to have pain releif whereas if you move around change postiions etc your less likely too. Dont fancy a waterbirth though. You?

My mum had me 10 days late i think, although she was only in labour for 6 hours, and she was induced.. so id be happy with that lol

Just seen your post Mrs D, i know what you mean about being confident in different situations. I am the shyest person i know but since having ds i have to pull it together and do things i wouldnt have done before as i want ds to be confident. Hopefully the docs will sort it out for you.

Ami my 1st labour was 6hrs, my mums labours were quick but she was induced cos she had pre eclampsia with her 1st so was induced with me and my little sis too so i cant really answer that. But i have heard 2nd labours are a lot quicker than the 1st so ive been told to expect a maximum of 4 hrs scary.

    Im back again lol

Yes Ami we went to longleet not long ago and ds loved it. I much prefer it cos they have room to run around. My ds loved the monkeys he got so excited, will hopefully be going again in spring. There were some school kids there today winding the lions up and it makes me so mad, someone should be keeping an eye on them.

Im going to wait til 37 weeks to try to bring on labour i had a curry and sex the day before ds was born (not trying to bring it on) and everytime ive eaten anything spicy since 30 weeks i get really bad pains so thinking maybe thats what does it for me.

Im taking make up in to hospital as well as i didnt have a hossie bag ready with ds and looked awful in all picks of me and him so really would like to feel reasonably nice this time.

Think ive got everything i need now and im saving up all pound coins we have for parking so df doesnt have to mess around.

Im getting a lot of pains too Jess and his head is "free" still but its down and on 2nd+ babies some of them dont engage til labour. (ds was only 5 days before labour). Im so nervous i thought it was gonna happen last night had some spicy food and was in agony with back pains for ages.

    35 weeks tomorrow scary x

I've missed out on loads today ... just catching up with all your posts!

Well I've booked the doc for Friday and have midwife tomorrow so I'm hoping to sort this out.

In response to you gys thinking I'd be super confident, I am in most situations to be honest. I honestly don't know whats happening to me. I am confident but this just hits me. It happened again today at lunchtime. I was freezing cold but my face was so hot I sat next to the window in the staff room. Then I could just feel a massive rush of heat and burnt up completly. What makes it worse is I panicked thinking someone would say something so I went even redder - and sure enough, someone said "bloody hell you've gone bright red, are you ok?" see what I mean!!!?? I'm now panicking over going red - its a bloody nightmare!! Thought I was just going to burst into tears - I've thought of nothing else all day every day this week.

Anyway I'll let you know how I get on, I'm hoping she'll tell me the heads engaged tomorrow and its getting ready to come out - but at 34 weeks this week, I doubt it!!

    ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Dad told me recently that when pregnant with me my Mum had been in hospital coz of PET. She was just being allowed home when she went to the loo and noticed she'd had a bleed and 5 hours later I was born naturally 4 weeks early I think. I hope speedy labours will run in the family coz I was also the first which generally are longest labours.

    Fingers crossed!

BTW I've also packed a little make-up bag but rarely wear foundation anyway so none of that. Neutral eyeshadow, waterproof mascara (!) and a tint you can use for lips and cheeks. Won't need it for cheeks as it'll be so hot there!!!! lol

And a mirror obviously. Should make me feel better for the photos hopefully.

I'm also worried I'm gonna be here forever! Especially as my friend is getting married in Cornwall on 29th Dec. Bought baby a dress to wear in case she's out by then! Maybe she will love pretty, sparkly clothes as much as her Mum and decide to come pronto!

I've seen Twycross on the TV Jess. I live near Longleat, good for a day out too.

I'm thinking of 37 weeks too probably though I eat hot curries now! Going to get my friend to do some Reiki on bump and me too, see if it encourages her out!

Anyone else looked into complementary therapies re. labour? I will be making up my aromatherapy blend for labour pains soon. DF said he will massage my back, hope he isn't just saying that. I'm also Reiki attuned and that can be good for pain coz I concentrate on my breathing when I'm doing it.  I've got my arnica homeopathy for healing after the birth too. Did lots of Reiki and aromatherapy massage on myself the month I got BFP so fingers crossed it'll be good for now too.

So glad Laura also said about hot wards. Got slated for disagreeing with someone yesterday by saying some wards are too hot to wear a dressing gown on but your not the first people to say it even today.

hmmm, Ive been thinking about that Jess.  Im 35 weeks tomorrow - Joe was born at 36!! eeek - and he was 6lb odd too, wonder if peanut will take after her daddy???  I was thinking of starting things after 37 weeks - the tea and pineapple and stuff like that.  Theyre classed as full term after 37 weeks (right?) so that gives me 2 more weeks!!

Id ordered my xmas cards, some wrapping paper and some baby stuff that was in the sale, i got stuff in size 3-6 months, decided its better than keep buying small stuff lol

I love the zoo!!! but also get a  bit upset if it doesnt seem big enough for them! we went to Barcelona zoo and i didnt like the size of the enclosures   i live really close to twycross, if any of you ladies fancie a road trip when babies are here

Laura! good decision about dressing gown! lol if i had put that on too i swear i would have died! FAAARRRRR to hot in there! 1 set of my p.j's are long sleeved. and im regretting that now!

Lots of period type pains today which i like cos that makes me feel like uterus is doing something to prepare! lol

At what point do we start attempting all these way to bring on labour???
