Steph-im taking in one pack cos if i need more df can bring them in if i have to stay for a while.  Im happy to stay one night as it will be good to get my head round everything and have a little rest before going home as im sure ds will be a handful when his little brother arrived. I had to stay in for 48 hours with ds as his blood sugar kept dropping due to him being early.

Ive been getting pains too getting sick of it now and am more than ready for him to make an entrance. Dont know what you'll do about names hopefully he'll arrive and he'll look like a ........ iyswim. Youve only got 6 weeks after the birth to register him so hopefully you'll have something or he'll end up as baby boy lol x

Laura - hope your feeling better.

Jess - nappies, I've only got 3 packs of 27 at the moment. How many do you take into hossie, I only want to be in for te shortest time possible. And as for you not wanting your little girl born on xmas day - ME TOO!!! Wish it wasn't its due date!!!

I've had niggly pains all day - think I've been on my feet too much and now I'm knackered. The baby is making strange shapes still - ouchy in my ribs!!!

Me and Simon still arguing over names - Its going to be interesting when the little one comes out!!! Baby no - name!!!!

I would just like to clarify my reasons behind not wanting to give birth on xmas day! lol

It is nothing to do with her birthday being on xmas day!!

Its because i want my xmas dinner at my mums lol (see thinking of my belly) she makes the best xmas dinners!

And my mum is 1 of my birthing partners, id feel guilty if i was to drag her away from my family for the whole day on xmas day lol

Guess the cord was wound around tight so it stopped oxygen getting to baby's brain as it was being born. Lack of oxygen to the brain can cause brain injuries. I don't really know coz I thought as long as the cord was still attached the baby would get it's oxygen via the cord???? Guess we'll find out in time from Steph (Ewe) what exactly happened.

No i didnt know what to say either.

I dont really understand these things, i didnt think it was serious if the cord was wrapped round the neck, thought they just whipped it away?

She must be so worried! poor love

Yeah, on a ventilator at the moment. She must be so worried about him.  Wasn't sure what to write on the thread. Hope they're wrong about the brain injury, no wonder she didn't have time to let us know yesterday.

Bit sad today. Supposed to be my graduation ceremony at Bristol Cathedral today but as I put off my last essay it'll be next year now. Glad I did postpone it coz I feel like a massive weeble (to use Jo's word!!!) and maybe I wouldn't have gone at all coz I have nothing to wear and just look frumpy in everything anyway but sad I wont meet up with my group again. Couldn't have gone out for a drink after though, SPD would've played up with the standing around for photos and finding parking etc so I've made the right choice but just making me think.

I agree with you Jess, other people do intimadate you and tbh i think its harder on the 1st. This time i wont be putting my life on hold and hiding in the house for other people. But what you feel is normal and as i said i was the same.I only gave it up as i started trying to express and in a full day i would get no more than 2oz and i was expressing for 2 weeks.

I dont know how much you'll be able to express and leave for the baby as i didnt get that far but you will have to continue expressing milk regularly while your away so your body keeps the supply up.

My issues with breastfeeding are other people unfortunatly.. i know you shouldnt feel itimidated by others but i dont think i can overcome it... Im not sure i can cope with people staring, which as natural as bfing is, people do still stare dont they. I think ill just have to see how i get on cos im very determined to succeed with it.

not sure if you'll know the answer to this, its ages away and im already worryin about it! Me and dp are going away for 2 nights in March to Venice, baby is staying with my mum, its been booked and planned for ages... however it didnt occur to me till a few weeks ago i'll still be breastfeeding... what will i do for the 3 days?? i assume ill have to express enough for her to have from a bottle with my mum, and she may have to have formula top ups but what do i do in Venice.. will i have to express to make sure it doesnt dry up??  hmmm its confused me a little

Im not sure why i didnt have enough milk last time. I wasnt eating or sleeping well so hoping that was it and also was starting to get depressed from being sent away all the time. It annoys me cos mil bf both her children but doesnt beleive in bf in public or even in front of family but this time she can f off lol. If people want to see  the baby they will have to accept he needs to be fed and i will do that when i want to as im not uncomfortable with it. I will have a shawl for when i need to be really covered (in front of children, in public, etc) but the rest of the time you can only see a bit of skin anyway. People are so against bf but its so natural. Dont get it

    36 weeks today x

I don’t think you have to have ’boob symptoms’ at all to mean you can breast feed. After all as the midwive’s say 99% of women can breastfeed or whatever. Just need really good support at first to get correct postion and latch etc.   My boobs have not grown at all and the leaking has stopped but absolutely positive I’ll be breastfeeding.  I so agree with you Em, really hate the thought of being sent away to feed so I’ll be doing it where everyone else is. After all how much do you actually see when someone is feeding their baby? Not a lot when the baby’s on it!!! After all the purpose of my boobs will change then to just there for feeding my daughter, not a sexy thing. Not that sexy without a bra anyway!!!!

Thanks for the offer Jess, but I managed to get 4 on Ebay last night!!
