    Hi girls

Jess nappy wise Ive got 2 bags of 24 of newborn ones to take to the hospital - theyre suitable from 4lb-11lb I think - then I have a few bags of those left, and a couple of the next size.  We're lucky though as there is a shop just 2 mins away that does all sorts of sizes, so will buy as and when we need them.

Had major pregnancy insomnia last night!! woke up at 4.30am and didnt get back to sleep until 6ish - just couldnt stop thinking about the baby, labour, have I got everything etc....luckily slept until 9am so not too tired now, but was really weird.

Right im off to my mums today to dog sit!  which will involve their 8 year old labrador literally sitting on my knee - he is like a giant baby, love him!!!!!

    Have a good day all!

    L+P xxx (36 weeks today!)

Cant believe there starting in DIA.. how exciting!!

Im not wondering about nursing bras after reading lauras post, i havent had any boob symptoms either.. they have got bigger but not that i can tell to be honest, i dont leak anything and there not achy.. does anyone know if that means you may struggle to feed?

I too wont be feeding in public, she will have to be a bottle and breast baby.. i dont even feel comfortable feeding infront of family i dont think

Asked a while back but not sure if anyone noticed.. but the ones of us who are using disposables, how many nappies have you stocked up on? abd have you brought a combination of size 1&2?

I dont wanna buy too many and not use them, but then i dont wanna be dashing out for them esp over xmas.

I havent got any nursing bras yet either cos mine shrunk loads after the birth with ds. I think in shops they dont assume anything so always ask. My bump is huge but no where near what it was with ds, most of the time people notice but i do sometimes have to point it out to people. The bump in my pics is 22 weeks so you can imagine what its like now lol.

Lol laura i think the same when i get asked that at the supermarket its easier to do it yourself anyway.

Theyll have just asked if you wanted a gift certificate as they could have been for someone else for christmas.....plus theyre like robots - always makes me laugh in supermarket when they say "would you like any help with your packing???" and Im like "erm...no, Im buying 4 batteries, I think I'll manage!!".  numbnuts!

I havent bought any nursing bras yet...going to see if I can feed first - got plety of rom left in maternity bras, and I know nursing ones are more practical, but as im not planning on feeding out and about I can just whip it off at home anyway at first!  Still have a big doubt I'll be able to feed - had no boob symptoms at all - Im sure theyre no bigger and they never ache.  Well, soon found out I guess!

I still am gutted when people ask things like that. Last week in M+S I got asked if I wanted a gift receipt for the bbay clothes I bought. So I thought, well obviously I still just look fat, not pg. Depressing.

I would try some sizes on for the best fit Jess. They don't always seem to get it right. I've been told a sizee before in M+S but it wasn't right.

    Hi all...

Been into town today to get all the greetings cards i need from now till the end of Dec.. i couldnt cope with having to ask dp to go and buy them if i was in hossie, im so fussy about cards! lol

Also been to get measured for my nursing bras... listen to this!

Went into m&s with my 2 friends.. and said to the lady 'would someone be available to measure for a nursing bra?' she replied... 'yes me, which one of you is it for' wtf!!!??? im 36 weeks pregnant, can you not tell! ha ha! i just said 'errmmm its for me'

anyway ive gone up a cup size and down a back size which confused me as my bras feel tight around my back.. so im now a 40F (38D pre pregnancy)

Im sooooooo tired now! i cant seem to do anything without getting knackered! and i darent go into town on my own now, hence why my 2 friends were with me lol

Laura your day yesterday sounds a bit frantic! hope your feeling ok now hun.

Although it may be hard for him to get used to at first (though not for all kids, I had no issues when my brother was born) he'll be so glad you gave him a sibling when they're older. I know that you get on well with your sister etc. and it gives you a friend to grow up with doesn't it?

    I know lol.

I only know about pethadine cos i had it when i mc its horrible and i definately wouldnt have it again. I definately dont want an epidural, dont fancy a waterbirth. Thats why ive decided on an active birth with gas and air or nothing (depends on how i cope). I only had gas and air for the last 2 hours of my 6 hour labour so am pretty confident i can do it.

Im not scared of the birth, im scared of the impact it will have on my life and relationship with ds cos i adore him and would hate to think ive done something to make him miserable. Im sure it will all work out in the end i remember getting worried about everything at this stage last time probably cos its becoming a reality now.

Ds has really started loving my bump but i think he thinks the baby will be like him (able to speak, etc) as hes really worried about the baby eating all the food and taking his toys lol.

I also found that surprising. No-one in my little group (we did a quiz) knew what cephalic meant.  It's written in your notes each week and even explains it in the notes. We then had to get into another group to discuss pethidine and no-one knew anything about that either except me and I haven't looked into it coz I don't want it!!! lol

Made me realise how much research I'd done already.

Thats what i was like with ds i knew nothing. I was scared of holding him for the 1st day after he was born. You learn very fast though as i said i knew nothing but i got the confidence to learn when one of the mws in the hospital on the 2nd day said i can just tell you'll be a great mum that really helped me. I was only 18 at the time so it was scary anyway lol.

Its definately handy to know what to do this time round but i know until ive got through the 1st week i have no idea whether im ready or not lol

The weird thing was how little some of the other people knew - some of the questions they asked were frightening!!!

    Hi

That sounds really strange Laura, some of the aches and pains are agony and you get them in places you thought had nothing to do with the baby. At least all is well.

I was never offered antenatal classes in either of my pregnancies so dont know about those, i assume its the basics of labour and first couple of weeks? I knew nothing before my ds was born but you get the hang of it very quickly anyway (well mums do dads dont). When my ds was little he stayed at my dfs dads house and his step mum said she popped to the shops and came home to find him with his nappy on back to front and this is a man with 3 boys lol.

How strange, never heard of that before! Scary eh?

I think we've all said we felt like that at ante-natal class. Coming on here makes you very aware of things relating to pregnancy. But like you said DF did learn from it too so it was worth it.

Right, well yesterday was not a good day!  Woke up as normal and had a bit of pain up near my ribs.  Joe bought me up some bran flakes and a cup of tea, ate those and felt ok.  Anyway got up to get ready to take Joe to work and nearly doubled over in agony!  Got a sharp pain going right around from my ribs into my back – could barely breath and vomited from the pain – anyway, I was panicking – Joe phoned triage and they rushed me in.  Course once Id been there for 10 mins or so the pain started to ease and was all but gone after 20 mins.  They concluded that it was that because im carrying the baby high, she must have laid on/near the nerve which runs through the diaphragm – which basically caused it to go into spasm!  They checked out Peanut, who was fine, blissfully unaware of what was going on!!!  Felt really drained after, think from the stress and panic of it all.  Made me think though as Id said I wanted minimal pain relief in labour but if its anywhere as bad as that I’ll need loads!!!!  Anyway, I suppose we at least got to see Triage and had a bit of a dress rehersal for the big day!

    > >

We started out antenatal classes last night.  Were quite good (though I did feel like I already knew most of the stuff they went through) – but Joe loved it.  Plus he spoke to a load of other dads and now thinks im wonderful as they were all saying their partners had terrible mood swings and were all tetchy and stuff, so Joe thinks im a pleasure now!  Im a lot less moody than before I was pregnant!  We will def go back – theyre for 4 weeks, and week 3 is a tour of the rooms and labour ward so that should be good.

    Hope this works now!
