Hiya, thanks Kimmi.  I'm feeling much calmer now.

Had my m/w appointment today and bp was ok thankfully and I'm measuring spot on for dates.  But, baby is breech oblique apparently so if he hasn't changed by 36 weeks I'll be sent for a scan.  So, it's just a matter of waiting now to see whether he decides to turn or not.  Stubborn and awkward like his dad maybe?!

    How's everyone else anyway?

    Hey Kathryn,

don't worry about any of it. You are in the right here for sure. You son't want dodgy dealings going on around you when what you need is rest and to be calm. He had no right to expect you to do any of that stuff for him. My uncle is like that with my mum and I hate the pratt. Don't think anymore about him, it's his life and if he wants to mess about then so be it, let him get done. I would have disowned him too. Just calm down and rest and don't give that muppet the time of day or think about him one iota. He isn't worth it! You have something soooooooooo much better to look forward to and so just focus on that. Take care hun and I'll chat to you soon, if you need someone to vent at you know where I am. xx

Hello ladies.  Well I need to get something off my chest (for a change!).  If i go into labour tonight or end up in hospital with extremely high blood pressure, I'd like you to know that it's all down to my brother - no, sorry, he's not my brother any more because I totally wash my hands of him.  This is the brother who sent his 16 yo daughter back here from Bulgaria earlier in the year and we took her in and then she sh*t on us from a great height - I know some of you knew about that but not sure if you all did.  Anyway, basically he's bought a car via the internet and he needs to fly over and pick it up and get it back to Bulgaria.  The person he's bought it from has no log book and apparently he contacted the person he bought it from to be told that he doesn't have one either as he 'threw it away'.  Anyone else think this is dodgy already?  Well, my bro then asked me to get the V62 form off the internet and fill it in for him so he could register the car in his name here and then just drive it over to Bulgaria and then register it as an export.  Downloaded said form but it needs an English address - I didn't want it registered here because I think it all sounds dodgy anyway, but my dad agreed to have his address on it.  So, this afternoon, came to fill it in and realised that my bro needs to sign it so I texted him - his reply?  Forge my signature because they never check it anyway!  So I texted and told him no way!  He then phoned my dad and had a row with him and my dad phoned me to tell me.  My EX brother then phoned me and started having a go at me for not doing it, saying that if there was any problem with the forgery it would be his problem not mine and started being really horrible and shouting at me.  So I lost it big time, shouted down the phone to him and as he obviously wasn't listening shouted goodbye and switched phone off and threw it across the room.  I have been shaking with rage ever since and am VERY upset.  What a f**king d**khead he is!!!!!  (Sorry ladies but I'm so angry!)  I really need to calm down but am so wound up!!!!  Sorry for the really, really long post, just needed to get it off my chest in the hope it made me feel better!

Yayayayayayayayayayay!!!!!!!!!!!!  Just thought I'd tell you all that my friend has finally had her baby!  She was due on 24 September and had a membrane sweep on Monday.  The midwife found she was 2 to 3 cm dilated already when she did that but by yesterday she hadn't really had much change.  She texted at teatime yesterday to say that if she had not progressed very much she was booked for a c section at 7pm.  Well, I had no news since and a text didn't get through to her this morning so I phoned her house and her hubby was there.  She did have the section and they are happy to announce that mother and baby Felicity are doing well!  I'm so happy I am practically in tears!!!!!!!!!  I think there were some problems but her hubby didn't really tell me what happened (I asked the weight but I don't think he heard me properly cos he just said he had to go back up at 11am! lol!) but the important thing is that they are both ok.  Can't wait to see her!  Both of them actually Awwwww

First of all - I replied to you on msn but you disappeared?  Hope you were ok!

But secondly, it's perfectly natural to be worried and stuff, I worry too, but I think it makes it much worse reading some of the posts on here so try not to take too much notice hun.  Not sure if it's the same where you're going for the birth but our hospital get you to go in for a 'lesson' first and mine's booked for when I'm about 35 weeks so I'll find out more then.  I'll let you know what they say after then if you remind me!  Honestly though, try not to be too scared because we'll all go through that anyway and it really isn't all that bad (or else I definitely wouldn't be doing it again!

Good luck for your appointment tomorrow, hope it goes ok, let us know what they say! xxx

Thanks hun, I know I am worrying loads but I can't help it. I know I want G & A and pethidine if it too bad. So mw says I can go birth centre if everything stays normal and they tell me I can have normal birth tomorrow at the hospital when they do clicky hips check. I know I'll probably not think abut it at the time but I am now and that's wat scares me. I just need to stop thinking so much i think. I just hope that everything goes ok and works out. I don't know if I want a water birth or not atm but I want to talk to someone about it and mw wont discuss until about 36 weeks. That's such a long time away!! I just think I'm being over cautious etc and I'll be completely fine but I am now soooooooooooooo scared it's untrue! Thanks for all your advice and help xx

Aww, I wouldn't worry about the hospital bag hun.  I don't recall ever actually packing one until I threw some stuff in on my way in!  And as for being semi-naked, well to be fair, at the time you won't think about it.  I'm sure I just wore a hospital gown when I was actually giving birth as well.  These forums are great but sometimes reading the other threads really make you panic about stuff that you don't need to worry about.  Women have been having babies for years and never used to worry about things like what to take in hospital and what size bag to use.  No disrespect to anyone intended but seriously, I wouldn't worry so much hun.    And as for the type of birth, well, things rarely go to plan anyway.  I'm hoping for a water birth if the pools available, purely because they weren't an option for me last time round, but if not then I'll just go with the same thing I did before and if anything unforeseen happens then at the time you don't really have time to think about what's happening and just let the midwives get on with their job.    You'll be fine.  xxx

Yeah it does feel loads closer and that's why I am beginning to panic. I haven't thought about type of birth, wat I am wearing etc at all and now its hit me that in 11 weeks time my little girl could be here and I haven't even given it the slightest thought. My bag is not packed either am only just getting stuff together. I have no idea what kind of birth I want or will be allowed until tomorrow because of this clicky hips check appointment I have tomorrow at the hospital. I think I'm getting worked up over nothing but I am quite reserved anyway about people seeing me semi-clad so am starting to really worry about that and loads of other things surrounding the birth. The closer I get the more I panic. Anyway hope everyone is ok and chat soon x

I'm glad to hear that your bp has come down so much.  To be honest, that's not really high at all but I guess it's slightly higher than your normal readings and it's a good idea just to keep an eye on it.  I really would try not to worry about it as it seems to me as though it's just been a blip (easier said than done though I know!).

As for what I wore?  I honestly can't remember, I'm sure I just wore a hospital gown both times.  I don't remember ever worrying about taking something in to give birth in, and I'm certainly not worrying about it this time round either!  I probably will pack a vest top or something if I ever get round to packing a hospital bag because I'm hoping for a water birth and don't want to be naked in the water.

Hey, it's October tomorrow!  Now that's scary cos suddenly it seems soooo much closer!  This time of year always seems to go so much quicker! Yikes!

Hey all, My bp is a bit better still not down as far as mw would have liked as it has only cme down to 134/78 she said she isn't worried but went on to tell me all about pre-eclampsia which made me think she was a bit worried. She did a full check and there was no protein in sample and iron levels were good in the blood tests. Ella-Louise was fighting fit today and has turned a bit her head is now down right in the middle of bump and her back is facing my left hand side so she virtually upside down now lol. She kicked my mw as she was doing the heartbeat which was back up to it's consistant 150bpm again for the 3rd time now.  My mw thought it was great that she kicked her lol. It was just lovely to see her again as haven't seen my own mw since 16 weeks. She said I should be ok for a birth centre delivery depending on the clicky hips appointment now. Fingers crossed cos i realy want the birth centre and not delivery suite, it's so much nicer!

Hope your all ok, glad you had a good break Kathryn and awww at the 8 week old. Course you haven't lost your touch hun, we'll all be fine.

Quick question wat did you all wear for labour if you have got previous experience as I am starting to think more and more and am a bit worried about exposing myself when the mw comes to put baby on me etc... Any advice greatfully recieved. Thanks and talk soon x

Hiya, sorry for the delay but had a really busy weekend and was too tired to post when we got back yesterday.  Had a lovely weekend though and  the wedding went really well.

Kimmi, how's the BP, I think you said you were going back today so how did it go?  Hope you're ok hun.

My friend who was due last week went for a membrane sweep by her midwife today to find that she's 2 to 3 cm dilated already!  But she's having no contractions and her waters haven't broken so mw did the sweep and now it's just a case of waiting.  If nothing has happened by Saturday then she's got to phone up that morning to go in and get induced.  I'm sooooo excited!  If nothing's happened by tomorrow morning then either she's coming to see me or I'm going to see her but I'm hoping that I get some baby news so that I can cuddle the baby soon!  Spent Saturday night doing that with an 8week old baby and it was great!  Fed him and stuff too and then he went to sleep on me.  Aww, I was proper broody so it's good that I'm pregnant haha!  Also it was good to know I haven't lost my touch!

Hope everyone else is ok anyway - speak to you all soon.  xxxxxx

Hiya everyone, didn't mean to be away this long but have had a few pc problems and just been really, really tired. I had my 28 weeks appointment for anti-d and 7 bloods (I hate needles) so my bp shot through the roof. It's normally 121/75 or 125/78 and it was 145/88 first time and then 159/89 the second time. So they are sending me to the midwife on Monday to make sure it was just the needles that sent it up.

I really wasn't happy going at all, sat there for ages in the waiting room and got very hot and quite nasty headaches, but overall I was fine once it came down to the needles. Thye have made my appointment to see consultant about my click hips for next week (oh the joy) lol. My little girl is doing well her heartbeat is a little slower than normal but that is apparently normal as she grows. It's gone down from 150bpm to 146bpm so not worried. She is right at the top of the line on the growth chart which is great, however she is lay back to back with me which I am told is not good! How are we all anyway? nice to see everyone still posting, glad your cat came home Kathryn. I am going to see my bf's half brother tomorrow after hockey show them the pic's. Am looking forward to a nice chilled out weekend and then the bf is away all next week so peace and quiet lol. Take care all and talk soon xx Kim xx

Awww, great news - the cat's back!!!!!  I opened the window in the living room because she kinda uses that as a giant cat flap and we just sat here and heard a miaow and we called her and she jumped in!  Yay!!!! I'm all happy again now!

Wilko, I have to open the thread in one window and then the reply in another because otherwise I can never remember what people have said by the time I've done my first sentence! Hehe, glad it's not just me!

I've added you too Kirsty - I'm in Warwick so not too close to you but still somewhere close.

I think we were supposed to all be meeting up but nothing ever came of it............

Stupid facebook isn't working again, stupid thing..........

What did everyone else say???  My memeory is so bad - I have to have the thread open in a different window so that I can remind myself what I'm supposed to be saying!

Have you been out looking for your cat Kathryn?  Mind you the way cats are there probably isn't a lot of point!  Don't have any experience of girl cats, just my nutty boy cat, I finally got used to him staying away for a couple of days when he started to get a bit older then he went and got run over - silly cat - we never liked each other anyway, he walked in the sitting room once, jump up on the sofa, smacked me round the face then ran outside.  Little wotsit!!  We have a fairly busy road up at the top of our road though, he was obviously getting too nosey and crossing over the other side to explore the factories
