That definitely sounds like a good plan Charlotte
I work Mondays and Thursdays, actually, I will be working random days over the summer due to my mother (childcarer) going away for several months!!! And I'm going away on the 28th August.
I would love a short labour, not anything silly like 30 mins but a couple of hours would do me fine, but then the last one was only 6 hours so I'm not too fussed about that!
Did they give you a deadline or anything about when you were going to hear from them about the house?
15/7/08 13:07
that sounds great charlotte, i can do anytime, im on holiday from the 15th - 22 of sept and i have a birthday party to attend on the 14th but other then that i am free lol.
id love a short labour, my quickest was 6hrs induced, other then that it was 72 for sarah, and 10hrs with riley, though i was in slow labour for about a week with him but the 10hrs is from when i started actually dialating iyswim
15/7/08 12:49
hey girls how ru all? i was thinking and il be getting on the train at banbury, can meet you at warwick wilko then we can meet you supermom at cov? how does tht sound and we need to think of a date, i am free all the time so will definatly be able to come! so feel free to arrange a date and just let me know!
CONGRATULATIONS BARB!
still havent heard anything about the references for the house i had a dream last nite that we got declined so am quite worried now!
is anyone else worried about having a really short labour? im worried it will be so quick that i wont have time for my epidural :P GODSEND
hehehetake care xx
15/7/08 12:04
lmao funny you should say that, i was scared of touching riley and told the midwife he was to small for me to take home haha, i dont know if you have seen the doll baby annabel, but the doll was bigger then riley, mil had to rush out and get me prem baby nappies and clothes, all which still buried him haha.
15/7/08 11:55
Well, if we all decide on a date then we can have a look at the trains once thats done I suppose.
I haven't seen any news from Barb but as Kathryn congratulated her I thought I would too!!! Must have heard from her on MSN!!!
Tiny weeny babies......................not sure if I would want one that small, I think I might be afraid of breaking it!
15/7/08 11:16
oh an with that weight i can see why you was relieved wilko lol, my dd was only 7lb 5, i dont seem capable of having a big baby, there is already concern that this baby will be small because my son was only 5lb 14, that was 1 day late, this hospital didnt seem happy i wasnt induced early with him, so at the end of this one if i'm measuring small again i may have to have lots of growth scans, though i cant imagine me agreeing to an early birth on a small baby, id rather it remained where it is and grew lol
15/7/08 11:14
im not sure wilko, if it does that would be great, i'm such a wuss i wouldnt dare travel alone lol
where is the news, am i missing it

congratulations anyway barb, im glad its finally over.
15/7/08 11:09
I luckily (!?!?!) had a slightly high bp and they didn't want to leave me any longer so I went in the earliest they could possibly have me in after the Xmas break, on Boxing Day. With him being 10lb8oz I'm actually quite glad I had high bp and they didn't leave me another week!!!
If I get on at Warwick will my train not go through Cov so I can pick you up on the way?
Congratulations Barb.............................................
15/7/08 07:29
Yay, many congratulations on the new arrival Barb!!!!! You must be thrilled and I expect your sister is very relieved as well as very, very happy! Lovely news to wake up to!

13/7/08 22:03
With Sam my labour started on the Monday night and I ended up having him at about 7.30am on the Thursday morning!!!!! Alex, however, started on the Tuesday late afternoon and I had him by 9.30am the next morning - my cervix had only dilated about 3cm by 6am and I had pethidine and gas and air and suddenly it went really quickly - they said they would never have given me the pethidine if they'd know how quickly I was going to go as it affected poor Alex.
As for the train, so long as you all get off it at New Street, follow everyone else up the stairs towards the exit and we can all meet up there so no-one should get lost that way. Trust me, I'm an expectant mum.........

13/7/08 21:51
you were induced after a week, the asses left me 2 weeks with shan in the middle of july as well grrrr, here they dont induce till 2 weeks after, sarah was 1 week but her labour was 72hrs, shan was 2 weeks, induced 6hrs, riley was a day late and 10hrs
if i got the train id have to get one from cov but i'm worried i'd get lost haha
13/7/08 21:44
Well my ds was one week over and took 6 hours to pop out from start to finish, but he was induced. Although my family does have a history of easy labours so I'm keeping my fingers crossed (and not my legs!!) that this one will just slip out!! Apparently I popped out so fast I broke my collar bone!
South West Sheffield is supposed to be quite nice but I like the idea of going a bit further out to Todwick, only just classed as Sheffield I think......................we'll see, not going anywhere with the state of the housing market at the mo!
I will be getting on the train at Warwick so Charlotte would already be on it if she would be getting the train............................ I have no idea what station I would end up at though
13/7/08 18:57
my baby is bound to be over due none of mine have been ontime
, i prob wont see bubs till january
13/7/08 17:12
Slow labours and going well overdue - wouldn't want either (had a slow one first time round) and am hoping that this one comes early and is at least as quick as my second one! Aww, I really feel for her.
Let's all hope that things go quicker and things happen tonight rather than having to be helped along tomorrow. 13/7/08 15:37
no baby yet, shes only 1cm dilated and last night was suffering a sickness bug, if she dont progress they are inducing her monday morning poor women, there is nothing worst then a slow labour, i was 72hrs with sarah and needed to get to 4cm on my own so they could break my waters, so i am hoping she is olding that baby by tonight.
13/7/08 15:04
LOL - well, you must have deliberately waited until I'd gone offline in that case
Talking of Barb, how's the sister's labour going? Has she had the baby yet? I haven't spoken to Barb for a while either

13/7/08 14:56
i was on last night, just ask barb i spoke to her so there, how could you accuse me of setting you up
i dont want to know how your hubby wakes you in the morning thankyou very much haha.
those going by train to brum what stations will you be going from?
13/7/08 14:47
LOL, 27, I remember it well, that's how old I was when I had Alex.........
Aww, glad you enjoyed Sheffield and hope you have a fab birthday tomorrow
I prefer the surrounding bits of Sheffield to the city centre itself, we stayed in a lovely little hotel a couple of years ago, think it was about 10 minutes taxi ride thereabouts from the city, the surrounding areas have such lovely views! See Supermom, I know I'm not getting up with kids early but I do wake up with hubby every morning and now it seems I can't sleep past about 7am at weekends (must be my body getting me used to things to come.....) and you forget I'm an oldie!
Anyway, you stood me up again last night and I very nearly texted you
Oh Wilko, forgot to say, I'll be coming in by train if we do meet at Brum so I'd be happy to meet you. We could make sure we get trains at a similar time and there's a bar at the top of the platforms before you go through the ticket barrier thing, we could meet outside there maybe?

12/7/08 21:52
I'm going to be really old.............................27.............................I'm using anti ageing stuff already!!!
I can do brum but I don't go there very often so someone will have to meet me at the train station or we will have to arrange to meet somewhere really easy!! I think I can count on one hand the amount of times I've been to the centre of brum!!
Had a great time in Sheffield, every time I go I want to move up there.......................so sad to leave. I love the big old factories up there, there is one road we drive down to come out, near meadowhall, and there are massive empty factories either side, it feels really wierd driving through. I want to buy one and live in it!!! Not a very nice area to live in though, not much around!!!
So what has everyone else been up to?
Hope the party is good Charlotte.
