beenie - he sounds like a total meathead.  threatening a pregnant woman while his other pregnant wife is at home blissfully ignorant!  it's a shame he knows where you live as you can't escape him.  these men should be castrated!

clare - that's good that we're not totally out of action, i hate the feeling of numbness...catheter's are ok as long as they put them in when we've had the block.  i can't remember having them taken out before so i don't know if it just doesn't hurt or it was because i was so drugged up on morphine that i didn't feel and didn't care!  i'm sure it'll be alright though.

I ampraying that I dont have to have a c section or anything that means having a needle in my back and loosing fucntion of my legs...

I am sure once i'm in there i'll change my mind but nothing scares me more tbh...

The spinal block is the one that completely numbs everything isnt it.. they dont seem to do the mobile epidurals in this country do they??

thats very true, his wife will find out when babs is born and then i cant get accused of stiring things... i got p***ed off though as i found out she's also expecting and he cane round threatening that i dont tell her.. i've never been good at being told what not to do so wanted to do it out of spite which is never good..

i will give my mate the letter to drop off at his mums though as like you i've always wanted to give her the option of being involved if she wants

Laura re: spinal.  The guy told me you start getting some mobility function back from 2 hours following the op, but it takes a full 24 to be fully functioning safely.  Guess no need to worry about going to the loo as we'll have a catheter in (ewww).

nooo...defo don't message his new woman, keep your dignity, that's what i keep telling myself lol.  although don't know if john has a girlfriend, i expect he has as it's been 7 months since i last saw him.  i would send a letter to your ex's parents though as it's only fair they know, the way i look at it is at least when my child starts asking questions i can say i really did try everything to get his family to acknowledge him.  if they don't want to know then they are probably not worth knowing either, but i don't know how grandparents could be that heartless...and if it's dna they want i'll happily participate!

clare - i'll also be going for a spinal block if i have a section, i just hope it doesn't cause a spinal headache and the numbness doesn't last too long x

    Hi Laura

Yeah if you dont mind email it to me.. I have written so many it'll be good to have it to compare too. I am seeing my ex's mate (who doesnt speak to him any more this weekend) and she's said she's happy to drop the letter off to his mum for me and she'll explain as well..

I also keep wanting to send a mesage to his new missus (they're married now) on facebook but i keep thinking too much about it all.

well i just explained who i am, what the situation is and that i want them to have a chance to know their grandson if they want to...i'll email it to you if you like.  i just hope they believe me but they'll go straight to him when they've read it and i expect he'll say anything to make me look bad but i can't do much more, just hope they are reasonable people!

Well still no date for my section, now there's a surprise :/  Anaesthetic review went well if not a little scary hearing it makes it all so real, and it was agreed with my phobia of all needles that full spinal block will be the best option for the section.  BP was scarily low today and they were pondering keeping me in as it never got above 88/49!!  However they agreed to let me go as long as I go and report to my DAU tomorrow for it to be re-monitored for a while.

Was really weird being in the hospital where I will give birth, their DAU is right on the labour ward and watching people come in in obvious labour was an eye opener, but the sounds of all the newborns crying was just SO sweet, I got all soppy lol.

Good for you getting that letter off Laura, fingers crossed for you hon.

Eep at the bp beenie, its a pain in the ass somedays

I'm hoping though my bp isnt being naughty again as they might put me in the DAU unit again for monitoring anything from 30mins to an hour.. I'll take my phone with me incase i get stuck there and can bug you lol

    ohh someone located our thread...

I have my consultant appointment tomorrow - am hoping my bp is behaving itself, otherwise i assume they will start seriously talking about inductions or c sections (the consultant scared the hell out of me at the last one talking about the next appointment being the one where they will decide the course of action)

I have my hand held ones, but they also require my hospital notes where the consultant has made his documentation etc - they write bugger all in our hand held ones.  Le sigh.
