Gift vouchers are great becuase you could wait until the sales were on after xmas and baby would be a little bit older and showing interest in toys which would make it easier for you to pick something you think they would like. I also found that when everyone bought me toys, they sat in the corner of the room taking up space and gathering dust for a few months.

I have a garden swing that grandparents bought its great it is for when they are about 6mths then after you take the baby swing of & there is a seat swing (like at the park) if you know what I mean that you attach to it which enables older children to play on them

That is such a good idea!   Might see if my nanny and grandad want to buy a swing.  Thanks!

Hiya.. I know it prob sounds crazy but I have asked my parents for a swing... not the in house rocker swing but an in the garden play swing... they can use them from about 6 months for years and are going to be about 6 months old by time summer comes.

    Also things like baby walker?

Becuase ive got a big family, people have started to ask me what things id like the baby to be bought for Xmas.  I know its ages away, but i guess its coz they want to get in first and have the best present!

Ive got all the big things sorted, and my Mum and Dad are buying a playmat and this donought shaped thing from ELC.

Is there any 'essential' toys that ill be really gratefull they bought?

Ive seen a winnie the pooh laying on his side which plays a lullaby.  That looks quite good.

I know he wont play with things for a while, but ive got no idea what kind of toys he will like once he can sit up!  I dont want him to be bored..

Please help the clueless first time mum!
