I drank the tea from 37 wks last time. I heard they speed up the dilation process and mine went fast - too fast really as I didn't have any time to cope with each stage of pain - it was just WHAM, BAM and suddenly I was 10 cm! I would use the tea again this time.

i will ask the mw about it anyway but cheers girls
i want to take them as im having a homebirth and would be nice to see if they help with labour, id never take anything if it induced early labour noooo way so im glad these dont but wont start taking them until later on in preg.x.2/9/08 18:38
Btw, the won't stop you going overdue!!! They only make contractions more effective, hence why you shouldn't take them too early cos your braxton hicks will get stronger which could send you into labour if your cervix is getting ready.

You can buy the raspberry leaf tablets online. I bought the bio health 900 mg ones in my last pregnancy from goodnessdirect.co.uk. They're about £8 delivered. I took them from 36 weeks as i was overdue with my 1st and after taking these this time i still went 6 days over. I read a lot on them last pg and prem labour only affects a small percentage of women. They're to help 2nd stage of labour and i took them for 1 week afterwards as they ease afterpains. Well, they worked for me. DD1 i was 1 hr pushing, dd2 i was 2 mins pushing. I had episiotomy and 2 hrs of stitches and terrible afterpains with dd1, with dd2 i had 1 small tear (which healed within a day) and no afterpains at all.

i used the rasberry leaf tea capsules when pregnant last time as i dont like tea at all, lol.
i used them from 37 weeks onwards as any early can induce prem labour.
i used them cuz my first was 11 days overdue and really didnt want to go thru being induced again, but, i still went 7 days overdue, so i dont think the tabs really work, at least not as well as the tea is supposed to and id hate to hear of people poss wasting money on them if they dont work that well.
just thought id let you know.

I took tablets from Holland and Barrat. Can take up to 3 a day but only took 1. Will have to check with midwife as I can't remember when I started taking them. I had ds at 38 wks and was taking them 4 a while before that. Prob from about 34 wks but I'm only guessing. Ds was 8lb 2oz so was very pleased he came early!!! Water broke at 5am, went into hospital at 7am and was 8-9cm dialated! After a few complications I had ds at midday. Will be taking them again.
