Yes apparantly they can go in a front passenger seat if there is no air bag at all but illegal if the car is fitted with an airbag. See the link below....

Illegal?  I though it was safer?  This is all so confusing!

Hiya I have a maxi cosi car seat and as scottish posted on behalf of LEIVERSE it is only rear facing and it ia infact ILLEGAL to put a rear facing car seat in the front passenger seat of a car regardless of having an airbag on or not.

I didn't have isofix for mine and found that it was more than secure with a seatbelt.

It goes great on a quinny Zapp and is so practical to just grab out and stick on the frame so Im sure it will be the same as a buzz.

EMMA (AKA LEIVERSE) HAS SENT ME THIS VIA EMAIL AND ASKED ME TO POST FOR HER (FOR SOME REASON SHE CAN READ THE BOUNTY THREADS BUT NOT REPLY LOL SO IM HER MESSENGER TODAY)

"Yes I have that car seat. It is a group 0 car seat and so is rear facing only.>>

lucy is right about it not being suitable to put in the front seat… this is the same as with any other car seat because technically even if you turn the airbag off, there is only one real way to find out if it is in fact off… it doesn’t bear thinking about.>>

The advantage of buying an ISO-fix base is that this is constantly strapped into the vehicle and so when you put that baby into the car, you do not need to belt the seat in Every time and it just clips in place.. It is not essential to buy this..

    Hope this helps."

Yeah thats why I wanted him with me.  It was the lady in Mothercare who told me not to do it! lol.

Will have to ask around and see if the other places say the same as they told you.

Lucy I had no problem with putting the car seat in front with airbag switched off. I was told by halfords, mothercare, mw and health visitor that this was fine but MUST make sure it is deffinatly switched off. Might be worth you checking it out. It is so much easier and better to have baby in front with you

    Hi,

I dont have that carseat, but just wanted to say that you cant put a carseat in the front with airbags even if they are turned off.  Something to do with the possibilty of them being set off anyway.  I have this problem as I have a 3 door car so wanted the baby in the front just incase (So he's easy to get out should we have an accident) But I cant as their is airbags there.

    I have a questionDrL1984

    Hi girls,

Do any of you have the maxi cosi cabriofix? I have just bought a quinny buzz, and so am keen to get the cabriofix to fit with the pram, however I have a few questions about it:

    - is it rear-facing only?

    - does it have to go in the back seat, or can i put it in the front passenger seat if i turn the airbags off?

    - do you need to buy the extra base attachments (iso-fix, and easy-base), and if not, are there any advantages to getting them?

I think that's all my questions for the minute. Thanks for your help
