at my 28wk check mw said baby was head down. I get the weird thumps low down as well as the rib wriigles and kicks. I think he is either punching or head butting my cervix and what it seems sometimes my bum!

Al my kicks/punchs have been low haven't had anything above the belly button . My mw seems to think its becuz its lying sideaways as opposed to up and down if that makes sense .

Hiya.. I feel the movements low down and they are alot more weird than the higher kicks.  Usually I feel a few low down followed immediately by a boot in the ribs so I think the low down "kicks" are actually punches in my case because I think his feet are in the air type thing.

Don't know if anyone has a different explanation though

Regarding the pelvic floor exercises, he asks me every day if I've done them, and I say no because I just don't get it! All I do is contracting my abs (or the little abs I've got left) which is not really the same. My husband's the one who does the reading and keeps telling me the exercises are good for me - I get bored of pregnancy books...

It doesn't get any better.....ideally you want lo to be in this position to eventually put enough pressure on your cervix for it to dilate.  Its gets worse as lo engages, you'll struggle to walk, not because of the size but how low your bump goes!

Hi, I often get low punches too!!  They can go on for ages sometimes and it does feel strange.  I try and walk around a bit like you do to put baby to sleep!!

I've been getting low kicks or punches low down as soon as I started feeling proper movements - as far as i know its normal as babs still has space to move around and up and down

I have to ask tho how does hubby know its because you've not been doing pelvic floor excercises?? has he been pregnant before lol... sorry it just made me laugh.. he could be right tho as i've only just started doing them

i do when bubs is feet down and its actually unpleasant some of the time! i find that sitting  the wrong way round on a chair helps sometimes as this encourages the baby to turn round

Hello, For the last 2 days the baby's been kicking/punching really low. It doesn't hurt but feels really weird. Last night I had to go out for a walk to put it to sleep because it was starting to do my head in! My hubby says it's because I'm not doing my pelvic floor exercises. The baby seems to be moving up and down all the time because he/she also kicks my ribs. Anyone else's feeling movements down there? Chazza
