return the car. as someone else said further down, as soon as one thing goes everything else satrts happening.
when you take the car back tho, if theres another car your interested in, try getting things thrown in and discounts. its them who's inconvenienced you.
my mum had and astra sri (on finance) and (obviously not in her right mind) took it back after 8months to get a megane convertable. the door panels started to leak water, electrics kept failing, radio shorted everything out as it wasnt fitted correctly etc etc the final straw was when everything cut out int the 3rd lane of the motorway EVEN THE HAZARD LIGHTS! she took that one back and got another astra sri (later reg and a few extras paid for by the company) for 6grand!!! in a way the finance came in handy as she would have had a fight on her hands with a dealer

I would return the car too. Vauxhall might be a good and reliable make, but the delaer should not hav esold a car with a faulty lock. I'd return it and look somewhere else.

Do Vauxhall have a main customer service number? if so phone them and get them involved my other half works for a main dealer (not vauxhall) quite a few of their customers have phoned the main customer service team and have ended up with more than they should get under warrenty
its worth a try they can only say no!

Last monday my husband went to a used car dealership and purchased an Astra 1.6, 07 plate, 16,000 miles on the clock and 2 years warranty. Setting us back £8250. That night we discovered that the central locking did not work properly, leaving the rear passenger door to be locked manually.
The following morning took the car straight back but they told us that as the car was still under warranty they did not want to touch it and that it should go to Vauxhall to be repaired. We booked the car in for Wednesday of this week but both garages are refusing to supply a courtesy car.
We are awaiting a call back from the manager to try and sort out the whole situation - do we take the car back and get out of the purchase agreement - or - get the problem fixed and keep it. Our gut instinct obviously was to take it back but others have said 'its only a lock on a door, get it fixed and keep it as its a good car"
Would like to hear your feedback and basically what you would do in our shoes? Would we be out of our mind to keep it?

me and louise bought a 57 plate astra sxi new from vauxhall and it lasted 3mths.
it is currently being investigated by vauxhall as it has a LOT of issues...
central locking, airbags, lights, brakes, wrong colour bumpers, fuel guage not working, using oil... i got told that the oil a 'running in process' thing is, i am a mechanic and i wasnt easily fobbed off as it used 3litres in many months. ive now gone back to what i know best..ford.
keep bugging customer services at head office and dont give up.
good luck for the future. lew
ps. im using my better halfs account
