the more bus bournemouth air festival (supported by excelsior coaches) is set to dazzle the crowds. taking place 28th – 31st august along bournemouth seafront hear the roar and feel the force as we celebrate the history of aviation; from aircraft to today’s awesome jets

the thrilling aviation line-up includes the red arrows (friday 3pm, saturday 12 noon and sunday 3pm), accompanied by an original folland gnat jet, the return of the sea vixen, the battle of britain memorial flight, royal navy black cats helicopter display team, team guinot wing walkers, hunter, mustang, yakovlevs, vampire and much more!

this air festival will also include ground displays, events, ‘big bang’ firework display on saturday night, live music and entertainment will be taking place throughout the day and into the early evening to maintain an action-packed festival theme – watch out for the stunning balloon glow!

this fantastic free 4-day festival, for all the family, is not to be missed!

the bournemouth aviation museum will be having a stall in the square at the air festival. we will be having a lightning c***pit for you to have a go in plus a large concorde model to enjoy and lots lots more.

we will be on hand to give information on the aircraft, airport and most importantly updates on the future of our museum.

this year’s inaugural more bus bournemouth air festival will see a very special and unique plane take to the skies with the royal air force aerobatic team – the red arrows – a newly restored folland gnat, once the flagship of the world famous display team.

first commissioned in 1963, ‘gnaty’ was the former team leader’s jet until the royal air force replaced their gnats with british aerospace hawks; the last arrows gnat display being on 15th september 1979. gnaty’s restoration project has taken locally based de havilland aviation (dha)(located within bournemouth aviation museum's hangar) three years to complete and she has now been granted her full permit to fly.

this aircraft has been one of the favorite exhibts in our museum for many years and we will all be very proud to see her take to the skies!

if you’re coming by car make the most if the official ‘park and ride service’. for only £10 per car, park at one of the conveniently located venues: littledown centre (saturday and sunday only), kings park and bournemouth university and catch a complimentary bus to the seafront, it’s as simple as that!

alternatively get the train to bournemouth, a bus to the town centre, use your bike (there are extra cycle stands located along the eastover cliff) or if you’re close by why not walk? we really would advise planning an alternative route to the town centre and avoid bringing your car – we’re expecting thousands of people to the festival!

and when you get there don't forget to come and see us, the bournemouth aviation museum, in the square!!!!
