    Hi all,

Sorry not been arond for a few days but had a crisis and our house sale fell through, moving out of London and had a bit of a mad dash up to area we are moving to to do masses of property viewings and luckily have found another house.

So my lo, 5 weeks and 1 day has been property hunting and sort of had her first holiday as well.  We have all survived to tell the tale and hae managed to keep all our lo's to their routines which was good.

Hope you are all well,  hello to any newcomers and big hugs to all the yummy lo's.

    Donna x

Baby Brian was weighed yesterday...he was 8lb1oz at birth and now 2 weeks old is a whopping 9lbs exactly...13oz gain in 2 weeks of boobie juice...even DS1 Gregor only gained 9oz in that time !!! At least i can see something good about him being permanently attached to me now LOL..

HV perfectly happy with him, good muscle tone/colour etc etc...and he SMILED at her...yes only 2 weeks old and he smiles...big cheesy toothless grins...looks right at you while he does it so its definitely smiling and not "just wind"

Im a first time new mum, my little boy Maison-Lee was born 5th June, 4 days late weighing 6lbs 14ozs and was put in special care for 4 days due to an infection on his lungs while i was put on a ward to stay in for a few days as i had an episotamy and the stitches were not nice at all. I was in bits for a few days as i couldnt even give my gorgeous little boy a cuddle, his breathing wasnt very good and i was so worried about him. Everyone on the ward had there babies with them and mine was in special care and visting times were after 12 in the afternoon so i spent most morning in tears wanting my baby. He was finally taken out of the incubator on the 3rd day but was still on anti-biotics but his breathing had improved loads. Finally he was let home and thats when all the fun began. Being a mum is amazing, he has lots of colic but have found infacol to be the best to help, althou it only helps a little, belly aches are still coming.

Anyone else a 1st time mum?

Hello, my ds was due 28th but had him by section on 23rd. He weighed in @ 9lb 5oz but weighed 8lb 12 oz on day 5.  Hopefully he will be getting weighed tomorrow.  I am bf him, and the past 2 days have been hard slog!  Sore nips and rock hard boobs and him feeding constantly.  today things seem to have settled down and it has been much easier, am hoping I have broke the pain barrier!  My elder ds loves been a big brother, especially all the presents he has been getting!

Well, am slightly less worried now... Jessica has gained about 8.5oz in seven days!  Go my breast milk!

I am to increase my fluid intake and give Jess a little bit of cooled boiled water tomorrow and Friday, if she hasn't pooed by Friday afternoon I've to make a doctors appointment just so he can check her tummy and prescribe lactulose if needed.  I shouldn't think she will need it, as it looks like she's been squeezing every last drop of goodness out of my milk to gain the weight.  LOL.

hey girls, this is the 1st time ive been in this forum since have little lily-faye 6 days ago

she was due on the 21st june, but i had her on june 26th after being induced........3cm dilated at 6.15 pm, 9cm dilated at 7.15 pm then lily-faye had made her appearance by 8.15 pm very quick for her being my 1st!..........had 3 sets of stiches because of tearing

she was 7lbs 5oz when born, then was weighed yesterday at 5days old and weighed in at 7lbs 3 and a half. shes being bottle fed as she wouldnt latch on when i tried to breast feed.

night times are pretty good atm, she will wake maybe 1 or 2 times for a bottle and other than that she will sleep through..........as long as she is with me and dp as she likes the closeness.

kakiwee...breast milk is very easily digested...so easy that there are times when there is no waste...no waste means no poo...and it can be entirely normal for a BF baby to go nearly 2 weeks without pooing...so dont worry about that...enjoy it while it lasts cos they get vile when weaning starts LOL

my HV said that the normal for BF babies is a slower gain than formula to start with but it tends to even off as the 1st year goes on

My health visitor did say BF babies tend to go one way or the other, fast gain or very slow gain.  Am hoping she's going to have put some one, weigh in is tomorrow.

The other thing that is bothering me is that her nappies have been very wet, but we have not had a poo for days.  After every nappy being pooed in for two weeks, it's worrying that she now hasn't had one for over three days.  Another question for the HV I suppose.

And my toddler, oh dear my toddler.  I need help.  He is being so so difficult.  I cried all day yesterday thanks to his behaviour, and it's not getting any better.

Madi is 3 weeks and 2 days, scary

Anyways - shes started fannying on with her bottles through the night and only take 2-3oz of the 5. Does this mean she is starting to wean herself off the night bottles?

Becsta, what was your LO gaining a week?

Jessica is yet to put on weight and is nearly three weeks. Fully breastfed.  I am just wondering how long to leave it before topping up with formula.
