I was told slightly differently - the coleif will work straight away on the bottle u are using it in, ie it will break the lactose down in that one, but it takes some time for the built up lactose already in your baby's gut to work it's way out, so they will still suffer with tummache etc until it has all been passed, and that will take several days. (when my son moved onto lactose free milk, it actually took 2 weeks before he was symptom-free, but had improved immensely after 3 days)
Hi there, my hv said it should work virtually straight away, no time to wait at all. I found it a pain to use as you have to put it in his feed half an hour before. It did seem to make a little difference to lo, but i have moved onto Infacol and have found that a little better. hth
How many times do you need to give it before it starts to take effect?

Are you using colief for colic or bad wind? Just sent md dh out to get some.
DS sleeps for 6 hours sometimes at night - but then I feed him at about 12-1am, he wakes again at about 4 and then is back up at 5/5.30am - I am convinced it's because wind is building up and waking him up.
ds was really unsettled last night too - we used infacol a couple of times but he had a tiny amount of blood in his nappy - only once, but it worried me so we stopped using it - will try again though if colief doesn't work.
