I took Joshua to the doctors about this and she gave me a perscription for sodium chloride which is the saline solution - basically sterile water and salt. I have asked my local chemist how much it costs should I need some more and he said that most chemists stock it for £1.99 and I know that Tesco's chemists stock it to and I think its a little cheaper from them.
If only they could blow their noses at this age - poor little things

I used the saline drops from 3 wks too and I also used the nasal suction thingy afterwards to try and clear it!

my dd is the same. I use saline drops from boots. They always release whatever is up her nose. They are suitable for babies and work a treat. They are £2.99. Charlotte is 9 weeks but I used them from 3 weeks

I think my baby has a blocked up nose as when he breathes it sounds very stuffy, does anyone know how i can get rid of this - he is only 11 days old.

My lo had a cold at only a week old! Midwife said to buy some Karvol (its like albas oil but for babies) - she said that it does say only suitable for 3 months+, but to put some on a tissue and keep it out of lo's reach... Really did the trick!
