hydrocortisone cream will reduce inflammation, but can not be sold over the counter for the face only doctor can prescribe it for there, reason being it can lead to permanent thinning of the skin.
A short course of tratment shouldnt cause any probs, apply it thinly, dont be fobbed off take lo back if still not better.

I really wouldnt like to say if that cream would be ok. is she scratching? i work in a chemist, which is why i think it looks like eczema but obviously im not a doctor?
Has one of those doctors seen it since it got worse?

Hi chick ive taken a look at your pics and it definatly looks like eczema to me,is there any chance you could see another doctor, cause it seems quite flared up and you could do with some thing like double base emollient cream. hth sharon x

My lo had this on his cheeks. I thought due to the milk but then it appeared on his legs and stomach. We narrowed it down to the lotion we were putting on him after his bath. Stopped that and put E45 on it and it is already looking better after a day.

Hi, my lo had these spots and the doctor gave us some E45 and it cleared up after aweek, We tried aquace cream and that didnt do anything. hth xx

My DS had something similar, it started off as spots then turned into a REALLY dry rash, I took him to the doctor yesterday as I was using aqueous cream which just made it look even worse. The doctor prescribed Epederm cream which I have only used since yesterday but already his skin looks so much better! I’m sure you must be able to buy it over the counter, hope that helps.

it sounds like mild ezema to me, all my babies have had it occasionally, and i had it as a kid, occasionally. or its could be heat rash?

my son had something similiar to this, and i just changed my washing powder to non bio persil, he looks so much better now. My health visitor told me off for using lavender Bold on his clothes.

lia has a spotty rash on her face neck , ears that i thought was milk spots but in last few days has got dry , sore , red and un-comfortable looking , hv came round and she thought it was eczema that had got infected as lia was quite warm and the ones around her ears and on ear lobe had green/yellow crusts , took her 2 c gp and he was not bothered by it and gave me impression i was wasting his time , and to top it off he completly upset lia by shoving a thermometre up her bottom to take her temperature which i thought was a bit un-necessary seeing as he could have easily taken it in her ear rather upsetting her so much , i very nearly swung for him she screamed that much ...well back 2 rash should i ask for a second opinion or is it prob nothing 2 worry about

my dd had this from 3 weeks and i was concerned so took her to docs, he said it was baby acne and so did hv, it spread down her face nad neck and a wee bit down her tummy but it is pretty much gone. best thing to do is clean areas affectecd regularly with warm water on cotton wool. I also got fucidin cream prescribed for the spots that were infected which happens with milk and saliva spills and it made a huge difference, I would also suggest asking for diprobase as my dds skin dried out when rash cleared up and this helped hugely. hope this helps, my dd is now 7 weeks so it has taken its time but be patient
