i am waiting to hear back from the landlord but the carpet isnt that badly damaged due to the cats, its just fraid under the door and could just be tr*** and put back under the door trim. now he is trying to get my contents insurance to cover the carpet (which mine only includes house hold goods not carpets and cupboards) as the landlords problem in the first place not our fault then he should sort it under their insurance. also the plumber told me that the same thing happened to the last tenant here as he had to come out then too. so this problem could keep happening perhamps they should check the whole house for faults.

You need to seek advice but I do know the landlord has to give notice of seeking possesion and they have to give thisin writing by law once he has  given you this you can go to council with the letter and the date you need to be out  and tell them that you will be made homeless they would then have to do something as its not you that is making yourself homeless hope this info helps good luck

Sorry for a moan but need to get this of my chest. Im having a bad time at the moment. Ive been away from home for a week staying at my mum's house as my dad was in hospital. While there I had a friend stay at my house to feed my cats and to look after the place. Me and my partner came home last night to find the house a mess. Mainly plates not being washed and the hoovering up not done but there was also the carpet ripped where the cats have been clawing it when they got trapped in a room. I was fumming. Ive not had time to sort it out yet as this morning I had baby group. If that wasnt bad enough this morning as it was cold I put the heating on low. I went to baby group and left the heating on so that I came home to a warm house. But instead when I got home I heard water running. I went into the kitchen and there was water everywhere. It was coming from the radiator. There was a hole in there and the water was still coming out. So I rang the landlord who sent out a plumber. The plumber is currently replacing the radiator but I have water all over the place. My landlord just popped in to see how it is going and noticed the damage the cats have done and basically told me I had to get the carpets redone in all the rooms the cats have damaged in the next few months or we are out. The carpet is covered in the kitchen on there insurance so he will deal with that. But what annoyed me is the landlord was only suppose to check the damage in the kitchen not inspect the whole house like he did. I am in tears here as I cant cope with all this, my partners at work and I cant get a hold of him. I just feel like my life is going bad and there is nothing I can do about it. Ive only lived in this house a few months, my family lives ages away. Ive got no one here to help me and my baby is the only thing that is going right at the mo. I cant afford much as it is so I cant replace the carpets and I can see me being homeless as the council wont help as we have been on there housing list for ages.
