dd is on aptamil easy digest as she was really windy and sicky on cow and gate, it really helps with her wind but hasnt stopped her being sick but shes puttin on weight so im not too bothered about that! as for gripe water, i swear by the stuff its the only thing thats helped my lo's colic (iv tried everything!!!) and you can use it on your lo after 4 weeks not 3 months.

My little boy is quite windy too and we tried Aptamil easy digest (usually has Aptamil first) but he didnt like it. Its thicker than normal formula so you need to use a faster flow teat. I also found that when it got around his mouth or dripped on my hands it was really sticky. Yuck!

Hello I've used Easy digest and C&G comfort - they are the same thing (exactly the same ingrediants and nutritional info)

I have found it much better for my son as he is a very sicky baby and was very windy also.  It is a thicker milk which i think helps him keep it down.

You must make sure that you use a bigger teat or a variflow teat as the milk is thicker than others, also you have to make it up with the water hot to dissolve the formula, otherwise it will clog up the teat and your baby won't be able to drink.  This does make it a bit of a pain, but I make a couple of bottles up in advance and then stick them in the fridge, so i'm ready

    hth xx

Thanks for your replies x. We're seeing how things go, she's been sick a few times today but she doesn't seem to be bothered about the fact she's actually being sick iykwim.

We've bought gripe water in preparation for her being old enough!

i bought the easy digest one by accident as they are the same colour box and all i had were problems actually thought the milk was off or out of date as it was really gritty and blocked the teats and left a sheen on the bottles once sterilised, little one would give up drinking it (never did it before) as it kept getting clogged in the teat, went into boots and realised what i had bought was wrong and got the 1st milk and he is now fine again! really strange!

Im using aptamil easy digest for my lo and hes sick after feeds but not alot. he seems ok on it other than being abit sick afterwards. hes gaining weight well too so im not too worried about it. I use gripe water. it says on the gripe water bottle that under 1 month old should not be used. You can use it if your lo is over 4 weeks old. My lo is 11 weeks now and gripe water seems to work wonders. We was originally using infacol but found it didn't make no difference after a while of using it. xxx

Hi, thanks for replying. Like you, I found the choice of forumulas confusing too    It's just hard to know if the amount of spitting up she's doing is normal and if it is worth trying something different. We'll maybe have to try and stick with Aptamil First and infacol a bit longer and see if things get any better.

my lo didnt like the easy digest - (have to admit it does smell funny) so oh said use sma and she likes it....... which is a buggar as the aptimal is expensive waste - novermind. lo did like apitmal first though. maybe its too thick for bubs - it does say on box that it is thicker ( and breast milk is thin so that may be why bubs isnt taking to it)

infacol works, so does gripe water but bubs should be 3 months plus for gripe.

good luck - all these different formulas are bloody confusing for me too - there arnt that many but which one do you go for ??????

Hi, I originally posted this on the bottlefeeding forum but haven't had a reply, I'm not sure if there's many people that use easy digest.....

My dd is 20 days old and we've been feeding her Aptamil First. It has been going okay but she is pretty windy and has been sick quite a few times. Often it takes her a while to settle after a feed. Mw and hv think "she is just a windy baby". I was thinking of trying Aptamil Easy Digest, has anyone used this and found it helped? We're giving her infacol too.
