    Hi there

Holly has her last feed anytime between 6 and 7pm and then she goes straight up to bed. She is in bed before 730pm and sleeps until just after 6am which suits me as I have to get organised for the school run anyway She has been doing this for about 6 weeks now and she is 16 weeks old

hi hun, my lo goes upstairs to bed at about 6ish he sleeps for 6 hours at a time in the night so im fine with this. he sleeps in his basket next to our bed. at first he hated bieng put down awake but i found if i left the tv on upstairs he went to sleep easily. as time went on i started turning the volume down each night until it was on mute. he now goes upstairs with out to much fuss. he does find it hard to sleep on his own but if he starts to cry i leave him for 5 mins then place my hand on his chest and put his dummy back in. once he has stopped crying but still awake i then walk away again. i could do this for a while but because he doesnt need anything i wont pick him up and he will settle himself eventually. needless to say i dont do this in the day and he seems to be getting the consept of sleeping at night.

    good luck hun xx

Hiya.  I was putting my ds down after the 11pm ish feed (bf) and he'd sleep to 8am ish at 11 weeks.  TBH I was delighted with this!  However, I then noticed a few weeks later that he was getting cranky-ish (very unusual for him lol) in the evenings so I 'listened' to him and put him down after the 8-9pm ish feed and he still sleeps until 8am ish!!  I actually miss him now, but you're right, it does give you a bit of 'me' time or time with DH.

Don't know how to help with sleeping thing I'm afraid.  Through pure chance lol I've always put lo down awake and he's asleep on his own with no dummy etc in 10 mins.  Good luck xx

Jayden is 14 weeks now and he has been going to bed at 8pm for the last 4 weeks or so he sleeps through until 7.30am .. this suits me quite well as I have to be up at this tim ein the week to get DD ready for school. We usually start his bottle at 7.30pm  and take him up to bed at about 8pm ... we ut him down in his cot in our room ... tuck him in ... dummy and turn on his musical pooh bear and he takes himself off to sleep

That way me and DP have some kind of an evening together eand we have the baby monitor downstairs.

    Hi all,

My dd is 12 weeks old now and shes been sleeping through the night from about 7-8 weeks. I would go upstairs with her at 10pm feed her a couple of times (breastfeeding) then she would go to sleep on my shoulder and I'd put her in the moses basket beside our bed. So usually she would sleep from about 11pm to 8 or 9am. Sometimes she would wake at 5am for a quick feed and then maybe sleep til ~10am.

Anyway, my hv told me I should start getting her to bed earlier and everyone in my new mums group seems to put their babies to bed about 7-8pm. Should I put her to bed earlier ? The only advantage I can see is that my hubby and I might actually get some time together!! But wont she wake much earlier then?

Also should I be able to just put her down awake and she should fall asleep on her own? I've tried this a few times sometimes it works and sometimes she just cries and cries and I eventually pick her up cause I cant stand to hear her cry for too long - I know I'm useless at persevering

Any advice on what you guys are doing or what you would suggest?

    Thanks

    Son
