My lo was on Avent teat 2 at 2 weeks & we switched to Dr Browns bottles at week 7 due to trapped wind probs. Have just moved him to level 2 at 9 weeks as at 7 weeks he was constantly gagging on it. He still cried a lot & have since been to doctors & has got reflux, doc has prescribed Gaviscon infant for him so am seeing how he goes on that now.

Hi! We use Dr Brown bottles - think they're fab. As for your questions:

a&b) Yes, but we can only fit in 2 at a time, atm.

    c) Yes it does. All of the parts go in.

    d) I fill the bottle with water, add powder, put on all the bits (straw, brown cap, teat & lid), then swirl. The powder dissolves better with warm water, but we use room temp as it's just easier when out & about.

    e) I think they come with Level 1 teats anyways, so you should be able to judge yourself. Sorry, but can't recall what level ds1 was on at 5wks (and ds2 is only 1wk today).

    Hth!

    Hello,

Weve recently swapped to the Dr Browns bottles and i think there great! My LO was terrible for belly ache and bringing up wind but these bottles have worked a treat. I put them in my Tommee Tippee stereliser and they sterelise fine.

    xx

    Hi there!

I recently swapped to the Dr Brown's bottles for my DD! She was also very lazy when it came to bringing up wind and every feed was a nightmare! Since starting with the new bottles it is nearly 100% better!! She still has the odd tummy ache but is happier and more content!

My main advice regarding these bottles is to follow the guidelines that come with them regarding making the feeds up?  The only time I have had problems with leaking is if I've either warmed the milk up with the teat and lid on...or put boiling water straight into the bottles as the pressure causes leaking!!

I don't know bout the avent microwave steriliser but the electric avent steriliser is fine for sterilising Dr Brown's bottles!!

HI, I'm a huge fan of dr brownes. My dd was the same and we used everything on the market for wind and nothing worked until we tried dr browne bottles.

The answer to your questions is yes they can go in the microwave steriliser, I done that with dd's in an avent microwave one.

All the bits go in including the straw bit, give it a clean witht he little chimney brush thing you get.

Fill you bottles with milk as normal, then put the lid on so the little straw bit is in the middle and swirl them around it helps the milk disolve quicker I found.

No you don't need the bottle stopper things, I always made sure if I took a bottle out that is was kept up right, some fell over and I never had a problem with them leaking or anything.

The teats, I would keep your lo on no 1's of the dr brownes and see how lo gets on, then if you find it'd not quick enough then go for the no 2's.

I hope this helps, and I would reccommend these bottles to everyone, they certainly helped us, we could have saved so much money if we had known about the bottles first, lol!

    Good luck

p.s I don't know if the bottles are still the same but when my dd had them (3yrs ago) they made the milk look a cream or yellow colour. Sorry if this sounds stupid but don't panic, it's the colour of the bottle that does it, I thought my dd's milk had gone off. lol!

    Hi Everyone.

Just after a little bit of help.

My ds is 5+1 weeks old - since born have been using the AVENT bottles and steriliser, but little man is so lazy getting wind up and after a couple of days is really uncomfortable thru the day ( can only think it is trapped wind). I have started to use gripe water but do not seem to make any difference - my cousin has advised me to try the Dr Brown bottles b4 I try the infacol.

Wondering if anyone can answer the following questions-:

    (a) Will I be able to use the dr brown bottles in the microwave avent steriliser

    (b) If ok to use bottles in the steriliser will it be the same (i.e at the mo clean 3 bottles in 6 minutes - will it be the same 3 dr brown bottles in 6 minutes.

    (c) Have heard that the dr brown bottles have a straw thru the middle - does this also go in the steriliser.

    (d) At the mo - do not need any caps with the avent bottles - will i need caps with the dr brown bottles ( is it best to put milk in put  cap on  - give a swirl and then add straw and teat

    (e) Little man is still on teat number 1 on avent bottles although was thinking of changing to teat no 2 this week - how do the teat work with the dr brown - will i still need newborn and if so how long does this last for.

Any additional info with regard to Dr Brown bottles would be appreciated
