bad day here today - nothing is staying in Nathan's tummy this morning. I've just had to wash my new mat (which I bought because it was washable on purpose!) AND he's been sick my my carpet that I cleaned last week

Cement mix on the carpet - YUK!!!!

    Good luck with your appointment

Neocate is not like Nutramigen AT ALL. It is totally hypoallergenic for babies that have cows milk and soya intolerances. It is also mostly pre digested.  Nutramigen still has cow's milk protein in it, all be it treated.

I did ask about Neocate, but I was told point blank that if nutramigen didn't work it was the same thing. Staydown has been quite good overall I think though, and I've stocked up on tins from ebay someone was selling!

I'm so happy tonight, we tried my chicken casserole with madam again. I did pop it through the sieve to remove any huge lumps (and there were a couple ) but after the first choke, then she coughed the next spoon ALL OVER ME lmao, after that I adjusted the feeding technique so she sucked off as much as she wanted, and she finished the lot. And had 3 helpings of pudding LMAO

Hospital appt with the consultant tomorrow about her hip, that's in the morning, hopefully we'll be back early enough to get her weighed too. 30 weeks, and she'll be 7 months on Thursday, gulp!

We've changed Nathan's milk endless times and none of them have really helped. Neocate was the best as it seemed to stop the pain and cause less wind. They don't like prescribing that though as it is one of the most expensive. They try all the other options first. I only got it because I called the doctors panicing and spoke to another doctor who was very sympathic and let me try it. Then the pead agreed for me to continue with it so my doctor had no choice but to keep prescribing it

I've given Nathan Nuture this week as I wanted to see if he would drink more of it as the Neocate still isn't nice tasting but not quite as bad as Nutramigen.  He has been drinking more and there have been no adverse reactions (still same amount of sick though). Thing is I have 13 tins of Neocate to use so am going to have to go back to that. I will continue using normal formulain his porridge etc though as it tastes better.

alfie never got a chance to try it, our doctors is useless and said what will changing his milk acheive

We had him tested for allergies but they came back clear, but he had other symptoms like eczema runny poo so i thought that having a hyperallergic milk might help.  But he would not entertain it at all.  So we ended up going to out of hours doc to get gaviscon prescribed.

Did it help your lo at all?

I'm so envious of you mrsticktock getting your LO to love nutramigen, Charlotte even puked THAT up! Oh and don't complain if LO starts to refuse the dummy, we've spent the last week or so getting madam off the dummy at night because she was waking and was unable to settle herself. Once it gets to 6 or 7 she's still not ready to get up but won't always settle without it, and it can be a pain, although she can now put it back in if she can find it (if it's not on the floor!). We kind of started using one when we went away and I'd read that they can be good for reflux babies, however half the time she's still sick with it.

And yeh she is showing who's in control - she recognises the Sky channel selector screen now, so if that appears she starts looking around to see who's got the remote and then launches herself for it, it's quite funny. Well, if you're not holding a bottle or a pot of food at the time, half of tonight's dessert ended up on the floor lol

hi hun is he on any meds ?we have had to accept lennox refuses to drink full stop ,consultant has not come across a case like him before ,has he is on all the right meds but still wont drink ,the most he will take is 7 oz but he has to be semi concious ,things got better for us when consultant weaned him and said look use powdered boxes mixed with his milk  ,ive tried every bottle ,every teat ,juice ,syringe and if his awake he refuse ,maybe you may need to see a consultant again for advice, lennox only had 4 oz yesterday usually i would have stressed but i know theres enough fluid in his food ,so we just plod on ,it realy is a long road hun ,but all i can say is the more we stress the harder it is and the more it takes your life over x x xx x

    Hiya

I know how you feel about how frustrating it is when lo does not drink bottles, we had health visitor come out to watch him feed (maybe she thought i was telling porkys!) and she could not believe how he reacted to the bottle after just 2 or 3 oz.  I have pnd and it really showed it self when alfie went through this stage as i thought it was all my fault because i had changed his milk, teats etc to try and get him to drink more (did not know at the time he had reflux) now i know different after some councelling that it wasnt my fault.  It is not something you have done either! Alfie went through this stage for about 2 weeks, i just made sure i got him weighed each week so i could keep check on his weight and i went back to dream feeding him before i went to bed and gave him bottle if he woke in night, i know it was going back to begining again but i thought that even if i got another 4-5 oz down him it  would be better.

Keep your chin up it will get better

thanks hun and yep i have changed bottles teats eveything, hes always taken nutramigen particularly(sp)well tbh never had a problem when we came home from hospital he decided hed only take from the nuk teats you get from the hospital so we went and bought nuk bottles hes been fine on them and the past few days weve tried mam- no joy, tommee tippe old shape and new shape incl health check bottles - no joy

i know we started to wean on drs instructions but i am really worried that its because im weaning him, he refuses dummy and either sucks his fingers or his fist and on occasion it does make him sick and i know exactly what you mean about hands in mouth when feeding hes a lil bugger for that.lol.

just feel confused about it all and asif i have let him down.

    how are you anyway hun?

    x
