I'm afraid the paediatrician had no advice about his reflux unfortunately.   I've found that certain foods tend to make him more sicky than others. Tomatoes seem to be one of them, so I try to keep away from them as much as possible. Thicker foods stay down better but are met with apprehension lol.

Although he did eat a good 2 thirds of a slice of toast on saturday, and considering he has no teeth I was quite impressed, although the scrambled eggs weren't exactly a hit. I think it was the texture that put him off rather than the taste. He loves chicken and my fish bake which i'm happy about. lol at the english breakfast comment, made me giggle.

However I don't know if he's eating enough solids. He has a 8oz bottle at 6:30am then at about 8am I try to give him breakfast, normally get about 4 weaning spoons down him which I know isn't enough. At 10am he'll have another 8oz bottle but won't always take it all, then he has dinner at 11:30 which is about 3-4 ice cubes of puree and then a petits filous for after. Then at 1:30pm he'll have another 8oz bottle won't always take all of it. then at about 5 he'll have tea again 3 ice cubes of puree and a dessert of about 2 ice cubes worth, then another 8oz bottle before bed.

I know he's having enough milk although he has dropped a bottle (finally) but is that enough solids? he wakes at night still at about 4am crying most nights. I can settle him back most times without offering a feed. I just don't know if he's waking because he's still hungry? or if his reflux is still playing him up.

Sorry for the looooong post, and congrats if you mangaed to make it to the end without nodding off

    Hi everyone

We had a good weekend, George went to the seaside with all his cousins yesterday, mummy stayed at home and 'lunched' with her pals!

George is doing fine, I made a homemade shepherds pie yesterday so I am going to whizz some up for George, I hope he likes it... he will like it lol!

Well that's certainly good news for him. I don't know whether some babies just don't like breakfast? Maybe he's just waiting til he can have a full English?

Really glad everything is ok, I was fearing the worst when we didn't hear from you. Sometimes HV's can cause more harm than good can't they!?!

Did they have any advice re the reflux?

    Hello there,

I am so, so sorry I haven't been able to get online for ages, it's been mayhem here.

Brock is fine, Thursday was by far his best day ever! He charmed everyone in the hospital by becoming the most vocal rapsberry blowing baby there lol. I said to dh that morning that i'd bet he'd make us look like liars. He didn't have a scan, the paediatrician was more interested in doing a developmental check on him. She was "Very impressed" to quote her directly.

It doesn't help that the HV had measured Brocks head wrong by a whole centimetre! The paediatrician was somewhat annoyed by this. He has to have another scan and development check up in 6 months, but the doctor said she couldn't see that the fluid was doing him any harm, in fact his development is a little ahead. (he's tried crawling this weekend) He can shuffle forward on his hands and knees, for about 4 seconds before collapsing.

He's 28 weeks today, I can't beieve it! He's been much happier the last few days although he still is refusing to eat his breakfast. I don't know why, he eats dinner and tea fine. Weird little man.

    How is everyone??

Certainly had the weather for it. We just popped out for a walk locally and that was enough to tire us both out!

I haven't tried the Weetabix yet, just giving LO a couple of days to get back to normal. Though she's wolfing down whole tins of pudding after a large dinner now! I was lulled into a false sense of security with her not eating for a week, now she's eating for England!

Trouble is he then stayed awake the rest of the day and screamed through dinner same as last night cos he's so tired My head has been killing me all day, now it's fit to burst!  Stayed up til late playing lego indiana jones on the wii and have regretted it all day!

With Nathan's long sleep this morning and Sam playing on Neil's wii all afternoon I was having quite a good day but Nathan has just creamed right the way through ours and his dinner and now I've got a stinking headache. Think those teeth are still causing havoc.

Our sickness is improving too, still enough to be annoying but not like it was. I feel like I'm coming out of a tunnel too. Really hope it's not just a phase and it'll return with a vengence.

I met Marie-Claire on Weds with her two boys.

or dairylea? I love the stuff lol

I think I'll make weetabix with normal full fat milk, as staydown's such a pain to make up and I have no idea how it will work in food!

Just tried chicken roast dinner on LO, with the Heinz baby gravy. The baby gravy smelled a bit rank but she liked it, and finished it. Yay! Baby's first taste of roast potatoes too, though they were just mashed up, she's getting the hang of slightly lumpy foods, thank goodness.

Still being a bit sick though, but nowhere near what we used to get, so ladies maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel?!

Sara - did you meet up with Marie-Claire yet, or is that next week?

When we tried weetabix I used formula milk and let it soak in for a while so it was a bit more like the consistecy of porridge then heated it up , I also tried mixing in a bit of fruit purree, but he still didnt like it!

Whilst George is doing ok with his milk I have been  using full fat milk on his breakfast porridge, but if he has a bad morning bottle I use formula.

Have boiled up some broccoli to see if he likes it as finger foods - he loves breadsticks!  Was thinking next about doing a jacket potato, taking out the mash and mixing in some philidelphia..

He was just waking up before but he went back to sleep and actually slept for 2 hours!!!!! It wasn't a question of not knowing what to do with myself, it was what shall I do first! lol

I did the weetabix with formula (still on the get some formula down him mission) and it was a bit warm. It was only the first time he''s had it so could change his mind tomorrow of course!
