Please tell me mine's not the only LO who HATES calpol? I'm sure it'll be great when she's older, but you'd think we have her chained up down a mine the way she flails about and carries on when I try and give it to her! She is much better afterwards, but it goes everywhere lol
16/9/08 18:27
oh yeah, meant to say sally - Sam always used to refuse anythng i cooked so I resorted to jars and he is the healthiest child I know!
16/9/08 18:25
we're on a mixture of homecooked and jars - jars when I'm out, can't be arsed or can't think of anything more exciting than veg & chicken to cook! I also like the Heinz cook at home sauces and baby pasta & rice. I did a really nice homecooked Annabel Karmel one with Chicken, veg and apricot and nearly ate it myself

eeeeuuuuuuhhhhh, that poo doesn't sound good.
I have to report tonight that the pain doesn't actually stop when they come through. Nathan has been really whingy this afternoon and not wanted to be put down. He didn't want his afternoon bottle and cried through his dinner - everytime I put the spoon in his mouth he just bit it and wouldn't let go and with teeth there is quite a grip there now. Gave him some calpol and he cheered up a bit

We were on homecooked food, with the exception of breakfast and puddings. We use the Heinz cement boxes porridge for breakfast, which ironically has been the only thing she's tolerated while sick. And Heinz tinned puddings. The rest of the food has been homecooked, although to be fair until now it's been mostly veg purees with a little bit of chicken casserole and chicken roast, but no lumps yet. She's shown a bit more interest in finger foods and likes a nibble on a rice cake. I suspect we'll start veering towards the occasional jar, otherwise we'll have to start eating healthily ourselves, good grief!
And you must be glad that George's poos are fine, this is doing my head in! Since last posting we've gone through another change of clothes, 2 layers of bedding and a change mat (thank god my friend recommended putting those underneath the sheets for sick purposes!). Been to get some more nappies, I'm seeing if the baby dry ones might last a bit longer. And now Im on the hunt for a second grobag, as sod's law that will get it overnight too!

Hi everyone
Ooh 'poo' seems to be the hot topic at the moment, cant join in movement all normal this end (scuze the pun!)... hope all your LO's get back to normal soon.
George is doing fine, thing is he now only wants jar food as he had this on holiday, keep trying him with my homecooked food but not interested. I did though give him a stage 2 Hipp jar today of Cheesy Pasta bake which was quite lumpy and he was fine with it!
Are all your LO's on homecooked food? After all the problems I have had with his milk I really wanted to give him a good start with food and make all his food..... have to admit though jars are easier!

Nathan's poo's were fairly normal just more of them, perhaps she's still not well bless her. I'm sure the teeth are on there way too though.

Well (sorry about TMI!) they seemed to be very runny for the first couple of days, that was with the vomiting. Now they just seem to be like breastfed poo, very loose, yellow and occasionally a bit lumpy. And plentiful! A lot of that I've put down to the fact she's refusing solids though. I have actually considered whether to get a pack of new baby nappies again as they were really good with runny poo.
And it's the way they look at you, as if to say why am i in pain, mummy, make it better!
16/9/08 14:50
I didn't get any warning with Nathan (except the pooing!). I couldn't feel anything one day , then it was there the next and he's still pooing a lot.
Are the poo's normal (iykwim) only a few people on here are talking about tummy bugs going round.

Totally understand how you feel about lo being in apin and not being able to help.I constantly feel like that with Brock.
I think that's the bit that really gets you down, the crying and irritability you can cope with, but knowing that nothing you do makes them feel better, that's the bit that gets me, because I'm mummy I should be able to help take the pain away.
16/9/08 14:39
Tell me about it, and the fact she's waking up in the night needing nappies changed is bothering us both! She was so unimpressed last night when I was trying to change one in the dark! Have gone with Ashton & Parsons for the moment, which seemed to settle her a bit, but we will prob take her to see the HV tomorrow and see what they think! Poor baby is in pain, and I can't help her

16/9/08 14:28
HUGE hugs to you chick,
I hope those teeth come through soon. I was told the bottom ones pop up pretty much without any pre-warning in the way of seeing/feeling them. But lo is fully aware they're on their way. Although I swear I can feel Brocks but will they pop up?
3 nappies in 10 mins ! You'll be getting through crate loads at this rate.
16/9/08 14:23
3 fricking nappies in about 10 minutes, I was close to tears, and she was definitely crying
I can't feel anything under the surface, I can't take this for much longer and this is potentially only the first lot!!! ARGH!!!!As well I'm trying to get my Virgin Vie business restarted, not easy when all you can smell is poo

I'm offering great deals on products and am taking bookings for parties in the South East

I discovered the wonders of wet wipes when I had Sam and use them for EVERYTHING!
Definately sounds like Charlotte is teething, hope they come soon. Nathan seemed to be pooing a lot for a good few weeks but was off with his feeding just before they came so hopefully it won't be long. There is definately two there now

16/9/08 08:58
oohhh catkitten lets hope its a tooth on its way then. Yes i totally agree with you wet wipes are magic. We even clean our leather sofa with!!!
I have a cold
and i hate them.hope every one else is ok
xx

Sick on the carpet - answer is baby wipes. Buy the cheapest pack you can, test for colour fastness and that's all you ever need!
I'm wondering if madam's issue is teething. She won't let any food near her mouth, she's drinking bottles still but fusses over them and doesn't drink as much. And she's going through nappies at a rate of knots, sometimes 2 in an hour, I think I've changed at least 6 pooey ones today. If it is, how long might this last before I see a tooth, as I can't feel anything coming through yet???!
15/9/08 08:06
......oh and it seems that this morning Nathan's second tooth is on it's way!

15/9/08 08:04
Let's hope she does and sooner rather than later - standing is supposed to really help if not stop the sickness
I'm dreading Nathan crawling, all that sick on the carpet!!!! He also seems happier to be on his feet than his knees though.14/9/08 22:48
We're hoping to do at least one if not two a week, it'll keep DP busy and amused, it was pretty much a full day of work today for him. I guess you just have to be lucky with what you're selling!
Oh dear, that wouldn't have been much fun. I bet you're relieved! I can't even contemplate having another one yet, I'm enjoying Charlotte too much, every day she does something new. If we stand her up now, she can hold her own weight, she's just not very good with balance so we can't let her go, but she'll hold onto the sofa and stuff with no troubles. I have a feeling she's just going to walk and not crawl, but we'll see!

we did a bootsale last bank holiday and made quiet a bit really. Good luck with any future ones!!
This month me and my hubby had a bit of an accident
(well i did) I really messed up my pill and have been panacking all month that no 4 was on the way. While i would love a another and would love to be preggers again i dont think emotionaly i could cope. Well i come on tonight
I should be more responsible i know.x

I've only given it to Nathan twice and he seemed to like it. Sam loves it, whenever he sees it he wants some whether there is something wrong with him or not - he'll even try and make up something just to have some lol He wasn't impressed that Nathan was allowed it and he wasn't!
