Speak to hV about starting him on baby rice as the other post says at least there is an ounce in there too. loosing interest could be a sign he wants food but speak to HV at 18 weeks it was recommended that i start my lo weaning on rice for the same reasons and she is now 20 weeks and doing really well on first tastes.7/9/08 15:36
not got any advice sorry but my lo is the same, takes around 25 oz, and most of that is during the night! he is 17 weeks, seems disinterested in milk! the day feeds are such a struggle, but night time is easy.

my dd is flatly refusing to take a bottle so i'm feeding her from a avent magic cup,could be worth a try. she will only take little and often too.....however i am giving her solids too, you could try your son with baby porridge that you make with milk, that way you know there's an extra 0z or so in there

HI ,
My DS is 20 weeks now, i changed him from breast to bottle with formula in the last 4 weeks, it has been a struggle since then. he was gaining weight well on breast and was feeding with interest. Now , he doesn't want his bottles. he is happy in himself,otherwise and looks healthy, But he is not putting weight on like before. He takes only 4 oz bottle 6 times a day, each time after a struggle, spitting, pushing the bottle away and then takes the bottle. He doesn't cry for his feeds, and i try to give every 4 hrs once he started sucking his thumbs and makes signs that he is hungry.
Should I wean him ? not sure what to do ? Worried that he might not drink milk properly and loose weight?
