why would you use a baby walker at the top of he stairs???? this arguement has been on going since dd(4y) was born(and before)  if you use sensibly then yes they are safe. ie, not near stairs, on flat surface only, have nothing within reaching distance etc.  common sence really.  also 20 mins a day max!!

ds2 doesnt like our bounct chair but likes the one in mother and toddler (same style)

    he's 4 months today

you shouldnt use a bouncy chair from when they can pull themselves to the sitting position, alice has been doing this a few weeks now so we ditched it there and then.

When should babies be able to sit unaided?  Jack is 22wks but has corrected age of 17wks.  He loves sitting up, he's always pulling himself up but can't sit unaided.  He sort of bends in half and puts his hands on the floor.

We stopped using the bouncy chair as Joseph has been sitting up unaided since he was 5 months old.  We can't use the Bumbo as he arches his way out lol.  He much prefers to sit on the floor!

The Baby Station is a next stage up chair which supports them to sit upright.  It has a play base attached which you can stick high chair toys and this also keeps it safe on the floor.  You can use this upto 18 months.

I can't beleive the baby walkers (the sit-in ones, not the push-along ones) are allowed to be on sale here. They're banned in Australia as they are unsafe... too easily to topple down stairs and baby gets trapped inside.

    Hi,

Whar is the weight guide on your bouncy chair? The reason I ask is that my LO threw up in her bouncy chair this morning and as I was washing it I noticed that the label on the back says that it is suitable from 0-6 months and not to use it once baby can sit unaided! I never knew this, my LO still sits in it, although I do have to strap her in now as she could easily lean forward and fall out, she can't sit on sofa yet so it would mean the floor instead.

Has everyone stopped using their bouncy chairs once LO could sit unaided or is their another type you can get for older babies??

my baby has a bouncy chair and is still within the weight limit to use it.

however today she was sat in it and leant over to pick up her toy and it flipped over and she was onthe floore wit it on top of her.

luckily she want hurt and hardly cried but just to let you all know to be careful!
