I think the only time he has ever been happy on his tummy was when we supported him for this photo!! used a big towel and it lasted a few seconds - enough for the camera though!

my baby daughter is the other way around - she is always on her tummy

will only sleep on tummy which gave me a heart attack for the first few weeks

she is on her tummy most of the time and because she is a dribbler her, her clothes and the mat all get soaked!

My lo has been doing this since he was at least five months, but he prefers to be sitting up or on his tummy, hates being on his back.  He sleeps on his side and stomach no matter what i do.

My lo hated being on his tummy.. until he could roll on to it himself!! I always put toys in front of him when hes on his tummy so that always keeps him happy!

Iv started puttin a magazine in front of ds when he's on his tummy, he loves paper and likes to scrunch it up. That usually distracts him from the fact that he's on his tummy for a few mins (5 mins at a push lol) xxxxxxxxx

I spoke to the Doctor today re Warwick's flat head syndrome and he said I must get him onto his tummy (he hates it) not only to get the pressure off his head but also as apparently babies who spend time on their tummy do better in developmental terms, he said words to the effect of, 'babies who spend time on their tummies are quicker to role over and quicker to walk'. Just thought I'd share his thoughts as prior to him saying this I was resigned to Warwick just not going on his tummy at all, think I might try a bit harder now.

oliver used to scream the house down so i used to put him on his stomach and put a towel under his upper body so he wasnt lying flat on his face, he loves it now and doesnt scream, thank god! also try getting down on his level so  he doesnt feel so alone, i used to lie infront of him and chat to him.

My lo still hates being on his tummy and prefers lying completely flat or sitting up (almost by himself now) Does anybody else's lo hate it too? has anyone got any good ideas? As soon as he is on his stomach he lifts one arm up, swings it back and there he is - on his back again!
