I had lo on 17th April,  bf up until 6wks ago! still no period! done a pg just incase was negative! hoping for it to return soon! so glad i'm not the only one!

With my formula fed baby I went twenty weeks until the first period, then ten weeks, then six weeks, then ten weeks again.

With my breastfed baby I am at seventeen weeks and no sign of a period again.

Stress and tiredness can affect your menstrual cycle.  Also being very overweight, I was fine before I had babies, but afterwards I was three stone heavier and as being too thin can affect it, so can being too big.

Practise double protection and then you won't have to waste money on pregnancy tests.  If you are worried about not having proper periods, speak to your GP.

Its normal to have erratic periods after having babies!! Kasey is nearly 22 weeks for me, & ive not had a single thing yet, although im exclusively bf!! but last time i bf & had a period by 4 months, but they were erratic after!!

Me too - had dd 11th May, bled for 9 weeks afterwards but haven't had any sign of a period since. I'm mix-feeding too. I had a smear a couple of weeks ago and the nurse said this sounded perfectly normal. I'm going to stop breastfeeding at 6 months and hope they come along after that xx  

im slightly worried too had my lo 6th may bf for 6 weeks then mix fed for another 9 but still now ive not had a period i did a preg test came back negative so just wondering now where it is ... goin for a smear wensday so ill ask then ....anybody else gone this long with out one???

Don't worry, I'm sure you are fine.  Had my first period 6 weeks after giving birth, then the next 3 weeks later.  Then it was about 2.5 months until I had another and they are still erratic now.  Am sure it takes a while to settle down, especially if you have been breast feeding. x

Ds2 was born 6th June and I had my 1st period on 17th July.  The next was not until 30th August and nothing since.  Tho have been taking the mini pill since end Aug so they are likely to become irregular so not worried.

I was very worried in Aug when my period was late and mentioned it to the doctor.  She worried me by saying that condoms are only 80% effective (silly me didn't know this! ).

Anyway after asking on here I found out that it is common for periods to be all over the place after having a baby.  So try not to worry.

I started the 1st period after my dd was born on Aug 15th but have had nothing since!?? I have done two preg tests, both negative and am not breastfeeding. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same and if so any ideas why? xx
