Great minds I've been thinking about the same thing only i'd never do it myself. I struggle to access the cafe's in my village so no steps or a ramp is a must.
Electric door please like co-op have so no mounting the door handle on reversing into cafe with pram (cos it hurts do that every time I go to the newsagents).
Space tables wide enough apart so that prams can be placed next to the tables if possible more than 1 cos if a few mums get together you got 3 or 4 people wanting to sit together with their prams its soo funny when my local playgroup decide that us mums are going for lunch we end up at morrisons next to the trolley park bit!!!! with our prams blocking everything in site!!!
High chairs with straps to restrain kiddies.
Free baby food with every main meal purchased is what morrisons do and its the hipp organic that you get a jar of which is ace idea for mums
Heating area with microwave kettle and bottle warmers with disclaimer for health and safety so thats sorted with any blame etc.
Fun packs for older kiddies with crayons and colouring etc instead of free baby food jar (this is what you get from Frankie and Bennies restaurants).
and most importantly of all damn good food!!!! selection of nice decent sized portioned panninis etc and range of coffees (don't forget the decaf list for those breast feeders)
Ok have I missed anything out!!! I've thought about this A LOT!!!! as you can see. Others have said about play area and other stuff that i've not mentioned.
So put that in your research hun and make a mint!!! wish I had the bottle and the cash to do it myself.

i would try and market it to just parents & kids but anyone welcome , and if i market it this way customers without children may just go and use the other cafes .
I just feel that there is nothing out there for moms...hey might approach dragon den ...maybe not they would crucify me on national tv !!!!

i think its a good idea, it would depend on how costly it was as to how often id visit. there are a lot of play gyms around here but non of them actually help you out by bringing food to the table etc, which i think is a good idea, and the ones ive been to are badly designed and small so they frown on you when you want to bring your pram in, you usually have to leave it in the door way! (but i dont feel comfortable about leaving my pram) i would also like it if there was someone to look out for the kids from time to time, as i have 3 children so when one neads the toilet i have to take them all with me!

Hiya,
i think it's a great idea but what about other people who want to come & have a coffee - would you state above the door or something no adults without children?! lol
I don't think that there are enough cafe's with bottle warming facilities, i know about health ~& safety but Debenhams do it & they provide a microwave.
You could also sell the jars of baby food.

Sounds like a fantastic idea.... think depends on where you are thinking having the cafe as to how often i would use it... were u thinking town centre (something we dont have enough of) or were you thinking more out of town like a playarea type thing with a cafe??? Always said i would love to do something like this because as a mum we are too familiar with going to a non-equipped cafe and baby changing rooms! No where big enough to get prams round or like you say someone to carry your tray! Sounds like a fab idea i say go for it! x

I think that its a brilliant idea. I am bfing my 23 week old daughter and it took me about 8 weeks to confidently bf in public. A cafe specifically for parents would have made that time a lot less and given me more confidence to feed out and about in general. Probably would use once a week or so. Go for it!! xxx

This is a little off the topic sorry, im doing some research on what moms would think about using a cafe designed for Parents & Babys in mind , a place where you can actually go and have a coffee where they will at least bring it to you rather than expect you to carry a hot cup of coffee while trying to push or carry your child at the same time , along with decent baby changing units maybe spare nappies and things you can buy case you run short , also a play area for older children so us mummys can sit back and actually enjoy their coffee . , also i know there maybe a few first time mommies may worry about breast feeding in some cafes and may feel a little more confident in a cafe aimed at parents
Posssibly food you can actually purchase for kids not just the expensive sandwhiches available that they wont eat, perhaps finger foods, youghurts etc...
would like to know your thoughts on :
1. would you use a coffe shop aimed at parents
2 what facilities would you like to see.
3.how many times a week would you visit a coffe shop.
Any responses would be really greatful , as its a venture im am thinking of going down but before i do its always helpful to get hints n tips from the people who may want to use this facility.
thank you xxxx

Oh I did forget something although you can market it aiming it at mums don't alienate the other purchasers perhpas have an area for take out or a smaller area for those that don't need the space with tables close together or have a meet and greet person to show you to your table so staff are responsible for placing the customers needs with the right table area.
Don't forget as well that this will also atrract and fulfill the requirements for disabled persons with wheelchairs as clientele
