Think it's the vicars old house because they're only there until they get a new vicar!!!

My friend Fi lives in Alderbury with her 2 boys.  She's renting the old rectory at the mo but moving - still within the village - over the next few weeks.

i agree im sure it recommends that if you are in an accident you must get a new one even if it looks fine

and most mainstream insurance companies replace them for free

get a new one, the insurance will cover it. with a car seat the polysyrene (sp) padding under the cover will start to separate each time it gets knocked or whacked, therefor if you have a accident with lo in car lo wont be as well protected.

I'd get a new one hun, its not worth the risk.  Wouldn't the insurance cover it?  xx

Yep I'm a car seat fitter and I'd definately contact Britax - their customer service team is excellent.  In the mean time you can check the seat yourself.  Look for cracking in the plastic and damage to the polystyrene liner.  Chances are if it was a front impact and not at high speed it will be OK but wouldn't like to say this definitively.  HTH

I think you should get a new car seat, this is why they suggest that you should never buy a second hand seat because you don't know if it has been involved in an accident.

Your insurance should cover this though....

Hi girls. We have only just bought our second car seat a week ago, one from 12 months onwards. Well, on Weds i was in a car accident, a lorry reversed right into the front of my car. Lo wasn't in the car (but the car seat was) and i wasn't at all hurt but the whole front of the car is a mess. So, my question is -  is the car seat still going to be safe and usable as you hear about car seats having to be replaced etc if they've been in an accident?? I am not sure if it really constitutes as an accident bad enough to make the car seat unsafe?? Whatdya think? Are there any car seat fitters or anything on here who could help with this one?? I am going to phone britax too but their number is closed now until Monday.

    Ta girls
