Toby is nearly 9 months and started refusing his mid-morning bottle a few weeks ago, so I usually give him a snack then and mid-afternoon.  He loves fruit, like chunks of melon, bits of banana, slices of pear, blueberries etc.  Depending on what he's having for meals that day, he might have some lumps of hard cheese or pitta bread with cream cheese.  For when we're out and about, I make sure I take things like raisins (soaked in hot water to make them squishier, then drained and dried) or grapes and breadsticks or rice cakes which he likes on their own.  Plus he will eat some of whatever I do through the day (I eat my Twixes in secret!)  Toby is pretty good at dictating his own routine depending on what he needs each day (extra food, naps etc), so I tend to take his lead.  It's working for us so far!!!

You could always offer him finger foods for his tea if he's had a big substantial lunch.  Maybe something like a wee sandwich or some toast with cheese and then maybe a pudding?  That's what i do as well as the odd wee biscuit or carrot stick here and there

Thanks for reply, the HV said to offer Tom, snacks inbetween meals to encourage finger foods and chewing but to be honest he eats that much for his meals I think I may end up with a lil sumo son lol

    Hiya

Jack has the odd snack here and there if he gets hungry too early for his dinner or tea.  He absolutely loves the organix rice cakes and carrot sticks.  Have checked and double checked and they seem like all healthy ingredients in these, (all organic wholegrain rice and fruit juice etc).  He does like the odd biscuit too. Struggling to get him to eat any fruit at the moment tho. x
