The Britax first class is really good if you want to leave baby rear facing for a bit longer but don't want to fork out for two more seats. It is much wider than the stabdard first stage, rear facing seats.

hi all thanks for all ur reccommendations thr! my lo is very lng for her baby car seat and in fact her head is at the top and her feet r over the bottom so it isnt rite will think of goin and lookin for another then thisd week! i think if i can keep her in rear facing i wud be happier but just need extra room lol my lo is 10.5mnths and she is walkin with furniture and crawling and has been sitting unaided frm 5mnths so she is ok in tht department its just her weight issues!!!!! shes sooo dainty but long!!! xxx

I read that lo needs to be at least 20 lbs and sitting independently for 20 mins.  Although, when I went into mothercare they said 22 lbs, so I don't know if that has been changed.  The Britax first class seems to be the best bet for the lighter babies. x

ive got the concord ultimax combination seat, my little boy loves it he's really comfy in it.  im keeping him rear facing for as long as possible as its much safer.  it is a little awkward to get him in and out of but it fits really well in the car, it doesnt move at all once its fitted so its really safe xx

the weight for most forward facing seat is at least 19lb 13/14oz however you can get the group 0-1 seat with can go rear facing and most recline they get lo abit more room..

i've been told by someone  tho is if the head is at the top of the car seat they can go forward facing aswell..she was told by her hv, but not sure about it.

I think it's the Britax First Class that we were looking at in Mothercare. I think I'll definitely go for it now after your recommendations.

We brought a Britax First Class for Oliver who's almost 4 now - he moved up to a booster seat about 6 months ago (under duress - he loved his car-seat!) - and Joe is now using it.  It's a bit awkward to use facing backward, you have to keep removing the seatbelt from around the seat (and I've forgotton to put it back a couple of times thereby not securing Joe aswell as he should be).  He's almost 8 months and 22lb and so will be going forward facing shortly (he can sit for about 30 mins unaided now - unless of course, there's a toy out of his reach, then he launches himself forward like a missile - lol).

I defo recommend the Britax First Class.

Hiya, I've got a britax first class which is forward and rear facing.  Ds is much comfier in this than his baby carrier seat, which was getting too small, even though he's not yet 20lbs.

    hi

my lo was 6 1/2 mths when i put him in to his forward faceing car seat, he was only 18lb 12oz too but i was really hurting my back carrying the travel system seat so on the advice of my health visitor i put him in his forward facing one she said as long as lo can sit unaided for longer that 10mins and they are close to the  20lb reccomened  weight it should be fine.....

not much help but maybe you could ask ur hv!

Hi. I don't actually have a combination seat, but I will be getting one. I've seen a Britax one in Mothercare that looks nice and when I tried lo in it she looked really comfy. hth.

ok my lo is only a dainty lil one, and she is 10.5mnths and last time i had her weighed at 10mnths she was only a healthy tho , 17lb 1oz! so the problem i have is she is still in the 1st car seat (ya knw the ones u get with a travel system) and she is quite long in there and is startin to look extremly squashed she even cries occasionally whenu put her in it as she aint comfy....so heres wot i am thinkin obviously she isnt the weight to go in a forward facing one yet but wot is the actual weight for them to go in it and also is thr a set length for them??!!

and is thr any good combination type seats ya knw the ones tht last frm birth to 3/4yrs tht r decent to buy and are slightly biger than these first seats tht u knw off? which ones r the best to buy?! wud be grateful please for any advice on this also thankyuo xxxx
