whenever iv taken car seat the airline puts it into a strong plastic bag, we have never had a problem with it being damaged in any way, and we fly at least 10 times a year, like previous poster said take the stroller to the gate, and if your worried get a stroller bag, our stroller always comes out OK, and Evian bottled water is best as it has the lowest mineral content,

I would also use bottled water to make the bottles

Hi, with the buggy you can take that to the gate with you and the baggage handlers put it in the hold of the plane (in my opinion it is best to do that so it is easier for you at the airport). You can buy stroller bags from Mothercare for about £10 which will stop you pushchair getting dirty .
I have never travelled with a carseat but if i did i would put it in a large bag and tape it up (possible some bubble wrap also). I would also suggest putting a sticky label on the actual carseat with your name and flight details on so if the bag did get ripped there would be some way of identifying it.

Hi Ya,
Were taking Lo on her first holiday to Cyprus end of September. Does anyone know when taking the buggy and car seat how you get them wrapped for the flight ? We are flying from Gatwick, Easy Jet and I've got no idea how to pack the car seat and buggy safely so they come out in one piece at the other airport ?
Also when making her bottle abroad do I buy bottled water and boil it or do I use there tap water and boil it ?
Any advice or tips would be gratefully received.
Thanks xxx

Went to Majorca in July with lo, we took our buggy right upto the stairs of the plane along with lots of other buggies and they are then put into the hold. I didn't take a carseat as taxi are exempt from having to travel with a carseat so lo just sat on my lap with seatbelt round both of us which was fine.
I bought bottled water as you can't drink the tap water there anyway and then boiled the bottled water, lo was fine and didn't have any problems at all.
My HV gave me a really good leaftlet by Evian which tells you which bottled water to use in the country that you are visiting, maybe ask yours if they have a copy or can get you a copy of this.
