I think I'm probably even more reluctant to stop because dh has been pretty anti for a while. He hasn't really been very supportive and about 2 months ago he finally admitted bf totally freaks him out. I've had him nagging me to stop since about 3 months and telling me that she's old enough to go to bottle and that there is no benefit after that point. He's clearly wrong and just has a massive issue with it. I've had to fight to be able to carry on feeding her for this long so I think I'm just a bit gutted that she's made the decision to stop not me! Stupid I know!

My lo did that at about 8 months.  I did try and carry on for a couple of weeks, but it became apparent that lo just didn't want to bf anymore.  I thought I would really miss it, but I only have to remember how hard she used to bite and it stopped me from having any regrets. xx

She does love her food! And she's so nosy that it's difficult to get her to pay attention when she's having a bottle never mind bf!

Thanks for that. I feel a bit better about it I guess. I was wondering whether she didn't want it because I'm too tired/not eating enough/too stressed etc from work and not making enough for her. I guess most babies self wean if given the opportunity, I just didn't want it to end so soon!

    xx

i havent gone back to work yet, but a few weeks ago, my DD (7mths) decided she didnt want to feedanymore, she would arch her back n turn her head away hv said shes just to lazy to feed from me now shes enjoys her food to much lol! so now were down to just a feed 1st thing ( i think she has that cos she sooo hungry hehe!) After a few days of her just plain refusing had to start giving her a botlle during the day

Just wanted to say I have a friend who was a SAHM and had the same problem with her second. No problem with her first at all. She had to switch to bottles. It might not be anything to do with you working. You've done really well to carry on this long. I went back to work at 6 months and the bf stopped within weeks as I was so knackered.

Having a bit of a problem with lo. I went back to work last week with the intention of bf her in the evening when I got home. It was all fine until last night when she decided she didn't want it, and just bit me instead. I tried a few times over the evening but each time she just clamped down and wouldn't feed. I was hoping tonight would be better but she's got a cold now and can't breathe through her nose. Every time I tried to bf she just screamed and wouldn't take it at all.

So.... do I accept that maybe she just doesn't want it any more, and it's just me who is missing it, or do I keep on trying? Lo is 8 months so I know she's had a fair share of bf, and it will be time to stop pretty soon, I was just hoping it wouldn't be quite so soon. I know it's a bit daft but I was hoping that even though her dad and the childminder are sorting everything else out, I could at least continue with bf for a bit longer even if I am at work.

Anyone else had a similar problem?

    thanks xx
