Hi everyone. Sorry i have been AWOL for a few weeks. Phoebe's tongue op went well. Was a bit sore for a few days but now she can drink from a beaker without it leaking and it could be a coincidence but 3 teeth have started appearing within days of the op. She is very vocal now. Can say "mama, dada, nanna, granga (grandad) and doo (juice) hope you are all well. Mummyjo, i have updated my work saga on the thread you started about your job on 7-12 months forum. Basically they are letting another girl do flexi hours even tho they refused me. Grr! Anyway hope everyone is well

Oh and Sam, really pleased you are happy with Ben's new carseat! Can't wait to get Sienna one, but she isn't 20lbs yet and she definitely can't sit unaded for 30 mins!!! Going to be a while yet I think! But she fits ok in her rearward one so it's not a problem yet!

And also lol to the more kids thing - I will ask you in a year and I guarantee you will at least be thinking of more!! Haha xxxx

Really pleased your op went well Julie You get plenty of rest and speak to you soon! xx

Hi Sam! Bless Ben blowing raspberries - Sienna does it all the time too.... but it is least funny when she does it with every mouthful of food!!! little madam! I have asked my mom to buy me a cooking apron to wear as protection!!! I think I might need protective goggles too once her food starts getting more lumpy!

Since the last time I wrote about Sienna's sleeping, she slept through the night once again!! So it is most definitely improving!! Thank goodness... however last night was a disaster... not Sienna's fault mind you!! We have a baby sensor monitor on her cot and I haven't got round to putting the second sensor pad under her mattress now that she shuffles around in the night.... so when she got all the way down her cot last night in her sleep, the pad couldn't detect her breathing... so the blummin alram went off and petrified the poor little thing!! She was in such a state bless her... I ended up rocking her for ages and stroking her face then giving her a bottle... but that wasn't until 4:30am so I think she was well on her way to sleeping through that night too! Poor thing though, I felt awful. Haven't had chance again to put other sensor pad on again so have left the monitor off tonight.. no doubt I will keep waking up and listening out for her!

Aw - I'm sure Ben will say dada soon! It will probably be when you least expect it Does he say mama did you say? Sorry can't remember (have terrible memory!). How funny that he bum shuffles though! I would love to see something like that, but Sienna can't even sit up yet (still!!) Feels like she never will! Although she is managing to get up on all fours now whilst in the prone position!! So hopefully not long until she crawls (or pulls herself up)!! Very exciting.

Well - my killer flu is still dragging me down - a week and a half on! Don't feel ill in myself though really, just sniffing and coughing quite a lot... the two most annoying traits of a cold Ah well, hopefully not long until it disappears (although by time it does I will probably be due another one!) - hope your dp recovers from his cold soon too!

Right that's it then I think...

    Speak soon everyone! xxxx

Ps. Emma - hope you and Phoebe are ok too xxxx

Hi, sorry its been a while, time seems to go so quickly now, don't know where the days are going.

We are doing ok, Ben is still a bit grumpy at times, hoping that once he is properly mobile he will go back to being a happy little chappy.  He has started bum shuffling now, not getting anywhere quick but if you leave him for a bit, when you go back he is over the other side of the room.  Still no closer to saying dada to dh, but never mind. His squealing is coming along a treat.  And his blowing raspberries, our new nickname for him is The Phantom Raspberry Blower of Dudley Town, lol.  Got his new carseat fitted yesterday, it is great and he is really happy now he can see what is going on around him.  He was getting way to big for his infant seat, and too heavy, he is at least 23lb now so he definately needed a change.

Jo, I just bring Ben in with us, he sleeps right next to me (uses my boob as a pillow) and I keep an arm above his head so hubby doesn't roll on him.  Have done this since we first brought him home as it was easier when I was bf.  Well done Sienna for going all night, sorry that it hasn't continued.  Hopefully the last couple of nights have just been a blip and she will go back to going all night again soon.  How is your flu?  There is a nasty bug going round at the moment, I have had it and now dh has it.  Hope your feeling better.  What a scary thought having 3 kids lol, I always wanted 2 but don't know if I could manage.  Ask me again in a years time.

Julie, not sure where coalpool is, where is it by?  Good luck for your op, hope it goes ok.

Emma and Phoebe, welcome.  Glad that the pre op went well, and hope the op itself goes good.

Right, Ben is starting, better go.  Speak soon, Samx

Aw, bless them! Glad it went well for you though and Phoebe wasn't frightened of the hospital Yes, hopefully it will be over and done with in no time at all. How long does it take them to recover after that procedure?

I'm ok thank you apart from Sienna is not settling well tonight Had a nightmare with her last night between 11:30pm and 2:30am even though she had been doing so well over the last week or so!! Absolutely gutted because I really thought we were onto something with the sleeping through! She hasn't slept through since birth you see and it was just an absolute miracle for her to sleep through the other night!! I was gobsmacked!! lol. How does Phoebe sleep? xxxx

hi her pre-op went well. There were two other children who go in on tuesday with Phoebe.  one was about 4 and one was about 7.  when they gave us the tour of the theatre and anaesthetic room, the older girls were a bit scared but Pheebs was laughing and chattering!! She won't really be put to sleep for long, it's only a case of knocking her out and snipping the tongue. hopefully be done for tuesday lunchtime. . .fingers crossed!! How are you all doing? xx

Hi Emma Yes  I know Coseley and of course New Cross is where I had Sienna Hope Phoebe's op goes ok and she makes a quick recovery... I definitely agree it is best to get it done sooner rather than later - she won't remember a thing in a few days!!

Thank you for joining us - let us know how you get on at the hospital xxxxxxxx

Hi Julie - yes I know Eastfield... and Deansfield School. I am from opposite side of Wolverhampton though - Perton. It is actually classed as Nr. Wolves, as Perton is actually South Staffordshire... that is good for me, as I am not a huge fan of Wolverhampton at all!!! I don't know Walsall very well I'm afraid, so haven't a clue where you live!

Yes I bet you are kept busy with two boys!! Bless. Like I say, I never wanted two boys, but desperately wanted a boy as my first... then little Sienna came along and I am overjoyed with her and couldn't imagine having a boy now! I have even thought that I would quite like another girl!! Then possibly a boy for my third (although dp not so keen on the idea of 3!!) Ah well, I have a lot of time still to have kids as I have only just turned 22, so he might change his mind in 10 years!!!

Well, your dp certainly is your toy boy!!! lol. I thought with my dp being 8months younger than me wasa big enough age gap considering men are generally so much more immature than us!!! Then again, I suppose your dp is 28, so must be quite mature by now?! Lol, my dp is 21 and living with him is like having a 15 year old son!

Sam - how are you and Ben?

Hi Sam Aw it's nice to hear Ben is saying dada, so hopefully it won't be long before he does say it to Daddy! I know what you mean about it bening really strange seeing a baby crawling at our lo's age! I saw SGmummy's lo Anya on a video and she was crawling everywhere!! It was amazing because I just can't imagine Sienna doing that!!!! It was so cute though and I can't wait for Sienna to do it

What do you do when you have Ben in the bed with you? Because when Sienna has had to come in my bed, Wayne has to go and sleep on the sofa because he sleeps so heavily and there is no way I would trust him not to roll over? Plus the duvet etc.

Omg, I have to tell you!!! Last night was an absolute miracle with Sienna!! She slept from 7:10pm till 8:50am - without waking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was absolutely gobsmacked!! I went in to check on her at 8am and she was flat out! Sideways in the cot with her head up against the bumper bless her I was so proud!! I really don't know what did it! I had put her up at 6:50pm and she was awake. She was just messing with dummy etc then started to moan. I went up, gave her dummy etc then left the room. Next time she cried I left her for 5 mins and then went up and gave her the 2nd half of her bottle which she had left and then that was it!!!! First time it has ever been that good! Sorry, had to share!!

Oh and I have the blasted flu Feel absolutely rotten But hopefully Sienna won't get it, otherwise I'm in for a rough ride! xxxx

Julie - whereabouts is your oh from in Wolverhampton? xx

Hi, Julie you are more than welcome to join us, the more the merrier.  Whereabouts in walsall do you live?  I used to live in the new houses that were built in tamebridge where the flats were knocked down.  We moved to dudley about 7 years ago, were planning on going further but the price of this house was too good to miss.

Jo, I am trying to get Ben to talk too, he has just started babbling dadadadada, so hopefully won't be long now before he actually says it to daddy.  Ben is sleeping ok, although he has a couple of bad nights this week when he ended up in bed with us at 2am.  I think I have sussed the cause though, I forgot to block the light creeping in at the side of the curtains so he woke up a bit too much.  Fingers crossed that that is all it was.  How Sienna sleeping now?  Is it any better?  I know what you mean about advanced babies, my sil's sisters dd is 3 weeks younger than Ben and is crawling already, its really strange to see a little babie crawling when you are so used to them just being immobile.  My smp finishes at the end of this month but luckily I have 39 days leave owing so I am using that until just after Bens birthday, I actually start back on the 24 dec but don't show my face in work until the 19 feb.

Right, better go and get Ben ready for bed.  Been a busy day as his nanny has been here this afternoon so he might be going up a bit early, meaning a quiet evening for me and dh.  Samx

Hi Sam... this thread gets very quickly consumed by all the others doesn't it!!

How lovely that Ben can clap his hands!! Well done Ben! I feel like Sienna's never going to do anything else!! lol.. she still isn't sitting or crawling or anything really! She says mama and dada all the time though - I think it is just babble most of the time, but she does mean it when she is upset etc. I talk to her all the time but still no other words... trying to teach her 'hello'. It sounded like she said 'hello daddy' today but I don't think she did lol! Never mind.

Isn't it strange though how some babies are so much more advanced than others? I can't get my head around it!

How is Ben sleeping at the moment? Has he had a cold? I think Sienna is coming down with something, as she was really screeching tonight about an hour after I put her to bed so I gave her some calpol and she eventually settled. She sounded a bit snuffly too and my dp has had a cold so I think she has it... not looking forward to her having a full on cold though Nights are bad enough at the best of times!!

Wow - you are so lucky to be having maternity leave until Feb! Unfortunately I can't afford to go until the end of my Mat leave (end of Jan), so am going back end of Oct when my smp finishes I hate work and it is going to be so horrible going back. I hate the job and I hate the people I work with (except one girl anyway)... there is always an atmosphere in the office and people talking behind one another's backs. It is only a small team of 9 and is in a really dodgy area, so nothing to do outside of the office for lunch Then again, I won;t have to worry about that as I am going back part time luckily and will only have to suffer them for 4 and a half hours four days a week I will be looking for a new job though, as I really don't want to stay long term.

So what job do you do? xxx
