Kat, what about white gold??  Not sure how many charms etc are available in white gold but it's a thought!   Otherwise, i'd just go with silver. Cleaning can't be that complicated afterall. They have special kits/dips you can use now anyway x

I got my dd a Links of London charm bracelet. It's silver. And gorgeous. You get one heart charm with it. It has 3 size links, she is on the first size, the girl in the shop says it usually fits till in their teens.

My dd turns one next week and I thought it'd be nice to get her a charm bracelet and add a charm each birthday.  Obviously, she won't be wearing it now so should I just buy an adult size?  The girl in the jewellers I asked at said I should get gold as silver needs cleaning a lot when it's not worn regularly but I don't like yellow gold and don't want dd to either!  Should I just go with my instinct and get silver?  (and clean it every now and then!!)  Or do you think this is all a silly idea?  She has so many toys as my sister just cleared the loft out of her two's stuff, I've got her some clothes and everybody else is going to spoil her with more toys, I just can't think of anything else.
