Supermummy thats a pretty silly thing to say it builds their immunity? So you would rather your child suffered from any or all of the diseases that they could be protected from with a single jab. Its a pretty selfish thing to do let you child suffer you obviously dont know how serious the measles and mumps are to say such a thing. All children should have the jab or even the 3 single jabs

you have to make the appointment youself where i am. i made thomas appointment when he was a year but he then started teething badly and had a bad cold so put it back a week, but he was still bad a week later. that was nearly 4 months ago and i still have not had it sorted. i dont want to do it when my dd is around so thought i would do it now she is back at nursery but everytime i go to sort it he either gets a cold or we have a holiday or weekend away planned. think i will have to get it sorted for a few weeks time when we will have had our holiday and visit to family.

our docs just send you an appointment and they are pretty good

You get a red book here that tells you what is due when but usually the docs makes an appt for you and you get it in the post. Now that we're 2 months behind what the book says I'm thinking I should phone them. Its the NHS they are always running behind!!!

This probably sounds stupid but just out of interest: Do you not get the timetable sticker in the back of your book from the hospital once LO is born? We have a yellow book back home that tells you all about the jabs and examinations and when to go?
Maybe it's different over here but back home the paediatrician phones you if you haven't made an appointment a week before the stated date. I just thought it was the same in every country?

When Callum had his other injections we got appts through the post so I've been waiting but now I'm thinking surely they wouldn't be over 2 months behind???? Just wondered whats happened with everyone elses. I'm gonna have to ring the docs tomorrow and see what they say.

hello, my littlen is 14 months old and has only just had his hib and men c booster then he will have his mmr in 4 weeks time,i think time varies on where you live in the uk

Has everyones lo had their booster jabs yet (the ones that are due at 12months)? Callum is 14months and he hasn't had them I thought you get a letter from the docs telling you he needs them???? Am I wrong and should I have phoned to make an appointment

i would not risk my lo's getting any of the infections that i could have prevented. i would be mortified if they got anything just because i did not get their jabs. i believe that eating a bit of dirt etc helps with building up a good immune system but i would not think that of measles etc. if you look at how many children did not make it to adulthood in the years before immunisations it shows what a difference they make.
but each to their own. i just hope that anyone who decides not to give jabs to their kids dont have to nurse them through a horrible preventable illness.
