Maximum payout is £1million.  Prizes are tax free but like Pollyjake says you don't earn interest on them just your winnings if your lucky.  The more you have the more chance you have of winning.  Minimum  amount you can buy is £100 maximum is £30000.  You buy them from National Savings through the post office.  Think winning numers can be checked on teletext hth

True about being in it to win it I suppose, and at least you can get your money back if you like unlike the lottery! I'm just impatient and was hoping to have won something by now! Will try to forget I have them, and like pp said if they were in savings I'm sure I would have spent them (or at least dipped into them by now) x

Its a bit like a lottery tink. You buy 1 'ticket' for £100 which lasts for life (or until you take it out) and theres a prize draw every month.  The least prize is £50, I'm not sure what the max is but its quite a bit.  Lo can take them out when they are 18 but theres noi interest on them so if hes been brought 2 he will only get £200 back (unless he wins of course).  x

My mum brought ds £100 worth last xmas for him.  A few months later he won £50.  We added another £50 to this and reinvested it in bonds so he now has £200 worth.  So I guess we have been lucky however that money expert bloke Martin lewis says that the odds of winning are so low your better investing money in a high interest savings account.  I don't think I would put any more money into them, but I view whats hes got as our little 'gamble'! x

i have won a couple of times nothing big so just put them back in, if you win £50 you can buy one for £50 normally its £100. i have left mine in as i forget about them i suppose, its money i know i have but as i dont see statements i dont think about it so not tempted to spend it, i know if it was in savings i would spend it. hope that all makes sense x
