Yeah I thought my LO had caught it at his nursery - can't for the life of me think where else he would have! God I hope it clears up in time for your holiday..............you may be lucky and it might not come back again once it goes. Just make sure you don't catch it...........!!!!

thanks for the replies, a week, eek, we go on holiday next week so hope it clears up!  He's got it on his chin and then round his willy!!   Not a surprise its down there i guess as his hands always go down there in a flash at nappy changes.  Just looks sore and horrible!  He has been teething and had dribble rash so the skin on  his chin was sore anyways, can only think he got it at nursery.   More time off work as even though he is fine in himself he can't go to nursery, wasnt long back he had chicken pox, again from nursery!!  xx

Hey hun - my ds had impetigo a few months back! Was all a bit of a nightmare really - he had a 7 day course of antibiotics (4 times a day) which was a nightmare to give him - I literally had to pin him down and force it in - he'd only accepted the banana flavour for a few days! Then it cleared up on about day 5 of the antibiotics, went away for a week - then came back again! So he had another course of antibiotics..............the doc said it's quite common to get secondary impetigo! Anyhows - it's not been back since (touch wood) but it's awful making sure I disinfected everything all the time. Luckily it was on his trunk - so it was covered by his nappie and not touching everything - but I had to let the air get to it as well - not so fun with a non potty trained baby! Anyhow - hope your lo is ok! Where did he catch it do you think??? x

ds has been diagnosed with this today and is on antibiotics.  Just wondered if anyone else's lo has had it and how long did it take to clear up?
