Hi, I am not sure how much they need but my little lady is coming up to 14 months and she has 6oz in the morning and 8oz before bed. She is on formula as I did try her a couple of times on cows milk and she didnt like it so back to formula. I also figured out that it works not only more nutional but also cheaper to give her formula. Just give him plenty of yogurt and chesse, he will be ok. He obv still loves your milk and he is happy that way. HTH x

hey I'm sure he will be getting enough, think Jack was down to about 3/4 bf's a day by that age. Even when we dropped down to 2 and then 1 he wouldn't touch formula or cow's milk (except on cereal) i used to give him as much on his cereal as poss and then he would have a yoghurt and some form of cheese every day and he's fine. Stopped feeding him when he was about 16 months and he still wouldn't touch milk at first but now he'll have a few oz of cow's milk in the morning and a few at bedtime and still yoghurt and cheese. He's 18 months now. I know the guidelines say more but if he won't drink it there's not much you can do! And the fact that he wants to feed all the time isn't necessarily coz he needs it's because he likes it

My son's similar. He's just turned 1 and i'm still breastfeeding, but down to 3 feeds a day. He won't touch formula or cow's milk either and i'm told by the HV that some babies just won't drink it. I think 16oz is the recommended daily milk intake for a 12 month old. You can ensure they get enough calcium through other dairy products such as cheese or yoghurt. It sounds like your LO is getting enough milk, but maybe just likes the comfort that breastfeeding brings, like my LO. If you think he's feeding too much, replace some of the feeds with snacks and try distracting him with toys when he asks for milk. It's so hard! Hope that's helpful

    Hello everyone,

My lo is 13 months old and I am still breast feeding. but my lo doesnt drink any other milk. I will take 3-4 sips of the formula and then refuse and will not drink the full fat milk at all. And when I am at home he would like to be fed all the time. sometimes I am exhausted but my lo will pull my clothes(it is funny sometimes). I am also concerned if my lo is getting enough milk. can anyone help me.
